I'm seriously loving this game. Came two days late, but that made it all the more enjoyable.

I'm about 12 hours in so far, and it's pretty great. I was a little uncertain about having a voiced Hawke at first, but it's growing on me.

I am. Apparently some seem to think that's some form of blasphemy. :P

No kidding. Haven't seen so much hate to fellow players since the last Fallout 3 vs. New Vegas thread on Bethesda forums. Which was... what, 5 seconds ago?

Someone said something bad about Fallout New Vegas ??? Impossible... the scenario feel so much more like Fallout 1 and 2... those insulting Fallout NV are noob****s. Even if I played Fallout 1 and 2 recently and after Fallout 3, My cousin bought and played them at day one, and he got to the same fkin conclusions... Posted Image

anyway, About Dragon Age II... I adore it. I'm not a huge ''Nostalgia glass wearer''... Sometimes I do (Pokémon) and Sometimes I don't. for Dragon Age II I just took the game something totally different. the scenario is cool, the characters are interresting, the new optionnal quest system fits pretty well but i'd liked to see twice environnements as this (got 3 or 4 fights in the chantry ?!? WTF !). Having Kirkwall is awesome, they should have putted another city similar so we can see more places. The musics are good, the game design is perfect, the combats are interresting. I'm enjoying it Posted Image

I liked the combat, the ability tree's, even the inventory management :) What I dident like was that the story felt like a cheap movie(relative to other bioware games), the companions and hero felt totally fake and the "quests" were really really boring(map recycling) & chessy.

It's a really good game. It's not the same game as Origins, I do miss the traveling aspect of it (missed it in Baldur's Gate 2 also, I wanted to explore, rather just hear about few places), other than that it's pretty solid game! I don't even mind the "recycling" so much. Main point is, that it is fun. :)

I'm enjoying this game, too. Got it yesterday - still playing of course. I'm not sure, if it indeed is better or worse than DA:O, but it definitely IS a good game

I own DA:O on every platform it was released on, including the Ultimate Edition, probably clocked over 300 hours on that game total, am now a PC Elitest, and I love DA2. Take that for what it's worth.

Well.. i jumped in dragon age origins late, after playing some years ago the kotor series (which i loved) and then got overwhelmed in a positive way with so many features to explore, thinking: ahh if kotor was had this all... It really kept me entertained if you can understand my point of view. I read some complaining about graphics were low but it didn't matter, i was happy with it. And i'm not really an rpg guy :P actually i like the combat style, it's fast, but the story and the menu design, depth etc a bit shallow. But tastes aren't to be discussed, this is just a point of view :)

I love the game so far, especially the sarcastic banter between Hawke, Varric and Isabela. I feel sorry for Merril, she's in the presence of three very VERY bad influences. Also, the best-friend dynamic between Varric and Hawke is pretty awesome.

The gameplay, eh, it's not much different from Origins. The copy-paste locations? Origins did it too (It was either a Deep Roads cave, or an ancient elven cave.) I notice it, but it doesn't really annoy me too much.

Bethesda fans are disappointed that New Vegas isn't a Bethesda game and flame the classic fans. classic fans are diasppointed that modern Fallout is "Oblivion with guns" and flame Bethesda fans... Lots of flaming around there occasionally.

And now this forum is flaming with Origins vs 2, while still being flaming with ME vs ME2. What's with the flaming? Is everyone on internet a pyromaniac or something?

I'm picking mostly snarky responses with my female Hawke - lot of fun :)

Yeah she's like a likable version of Morrigan. *runs away*

I love it. It is really just some dipsticks making noise when they don't have the funds to purchase the game and play it.

The only thing I'm enjoying is combat, and three sidequests early on sparked my interest.
But main story hasn't drawn me in at all yet and I'm nearly at the end of Act 1 right now.

I figure I should post in here because I have been talking about all the negative things I don't like, and its making folks like Gaider think that "you've been pretty negative about the game all around", which is totally understandable since I think I've been yet to express how much fun I'm having.

This game is great. I absolutely LOVE the combat. I love the narrative, the pacing, the story. Its GREAT.

I'll avoid talking about what I don't like here, as I could go on and on about little things and bigger things.

I should give credit to what I feel was done right.

This game might not be as good as DAO(in my opinion, of course), but its still way fun.

I've laughed A LOT since Tuesday, had my OH MY GOD and OH MANURE moments.

So am I enjoying this game? Very very VERY much. Even if you'll hear me talk about things I DON'T like over in the Spoilers section.

Please take my criticisms as me showing how much I care for this game and Bioware as a whole that I make my feelings, concerns, and suggestions known.

What I love most about the game is the updated lore. For example Dalish now resemble Indians more then ever and are more wise and spiritual. Same with the qunari, and the dwarves every race had a much needed upgrade. when it comes too charater believability and design origins is second too none. DA2 might not be the greatest game ever but if they can take Da2 and build off of it the game will be as renouned as origins.

The reason there are so many complaints might be because the more hardcore Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age Origins (basically old school Rpg fans) spend a lot of time on the internet and forums like this because they are the big Bioware fans but the problem is they can't get over the fact that Bioware is changing some things and they feel the need to give the game their hate just because it's not like their previous games and how there are things they don't like so they are being really vocal about their opinions...I for one am actually enjoying this game so far.

eh, Mass Effect 2 faced the same exact backlash over its gameplay simplification, but that backlash was subdued to "improve the sequel" because the game itself is incredibly well made... so maybe it really is just about quality? not to mention hardcore bioware fans are always like this, i'm not a hardcore bioware fan but i've played most of their games, i've skipped out on bioware releases many times and only bought later possibly because i've got other titles to play, some people tho bioware is the only thing they play so they will be that much more aggressive if they disapprove of something... besides the trolls, it's really short sighted to dismiss the roudy fans

Definitly, the lore got much better. We used to have on DA:O to much "generic" stuff from other fantasy RPG´s without a proper flesh out. They did it very well for DA 2. I have no doubt that if they take their time, they can make one of the best RPG´s ever with DA 3.
