I've played ten or so hours, and love it! The fighting is SO MUCH MORE FUN in DA2.
It's simply awesome to blast your enemies around XD
Also, personally I have no preference over the "tr00" RPG / cinematic approach.

+ fast paced action
+ cool characters
+ funny, funny moments
+ better interface (easy, quick to use)
+ runs better on my Mac, no freezing/crashing
+ I like the maps
+ hints of the Hero of Ferelden

- my mouse freezes once in a while, can be corrected though
- many textures missing in High quality graphics
- camera isn't as flexible as in DAO
- can't talk with companions everywhere
- JUNK. JUNK, JUNK, JUNK
- recycled maps

Honestly, I think these games are very much alike...
The whole tone of the story. The world. The morally grey areas.
I'd say I love Dragon Age games/books/whutevs as a whole package.

I for one thought mages at least were very very well done. I love how magic combat worked against other mages it felt very dynamic. You can use dispel magic to interrupt casting and had all sorts of tools for being both offensive and defensive. I have not made another class so I wouldn't know about combat for them but my Force Mage is a ton of fun.

Overall it's buggier than I had hoped, but... so was Origins. It seems a general symptom of games today so I tolerate it. The hit A to win was not as bad as I thought it would be and despite my fears the game did not end up feeling like a hack and slash to me. In general the cross-class combos are interesting but not integral to gameplay. The story was good, different in scope too DA:O but not bad. After minimal adjustment I grew to very much appreciate the aesthetic change of the Qunari.

Not everything I wanted, but enough of what I wanted to make it worth the time and the money.

I think that it is far superior to DAO in many ways. It is also inferior in several ways though.

I'm 40 hours in and about to come to the conclusion (i think!) and I am very impressed. Don't let what others think ruin your fun! If you like it then enjoy it! I think the game is absolutely amazing. Obviously there are some glitches and things I would change, but I have yet to find a game where I can't find at least a few things I would do differently. This game was well worth my 60 bucks as was the 7 bucks I paid for the Exiled Prince! (Didn't get in early enough for the Sig. Ed.)

I'm enjoying it much more than DA:O.
Playing an archer can actually be fun, who would've thought?
They changed everything I really hated in the first one.
So all in all I'm having a *GREAT* time!

Complaining people are always louder than satisfied people. Work retail for a few years and that fact is reinforced.

I'm personally loving the game, on my second playthrough right now.

What i like:
+combat no longer taking 5 seconds to respond
+no more silent protagonist
+more group banter
+characters feel more lively, and more of a connection with Hawke
+rogue class infinitely more fun
+upgradeable abilities instead of just adding more
+did i mention no more silent main character?

Few things i wish were a little better:
-a more 'real' world
I know ill get some flak for this comparison, but i liked the feeling of The Witcher's world, where it was more of what a city in medieval times would be (disease, racism, etc)
-friend/rival bar. While an improvement over the DA:O system, it still makes you pick specific party members for specific fights/missions if you are occ like i am. Like if i want to be a nice guy and help Fenris out, but i have Isabela in my party for a LI, then i end up being mean to him.

Loved it. Beat it once and am playing a second time.

In fact, my fiancee decided to start up a character (without me even trying to convince her). She normally doesn't play games outside of Plants VS. Zombies and Peggle. But recently DA2 and Fable III urned her into a nerd like myself. THANKS BIOWARE!!! =D

She's even considering playing ME2 after seeing it in action a few times.

I haven't been on this forum in days as I was too busy playing and enjoyed the freakin' he!! out of this game. Tons of fun IMO. A minor targeting issue which I'm sure will be corrected but overall, I felt this game is superior to DAO. The combat, the decisions, the romance, the party/squad, the story.... just great fun/ I just spent just under 50 hours playing and beating the game with my mage and I look forward to starting over all over again with a rogue tomorrow and I'll probably be able to beat it in just over 40 hours next play through as I no now what to do and where to go.

Heck, I'll probably even romance Merill.... again! LOL!!!

All in all I like it for what it is, but I do think if they were given more time, they could've made it even greater. I love the characters, and the atmosphere, but I wish it was a bit more expanded. There's a few things that irk me other than that, but I'm trying to not let it ruin it for me.

I'm powerplaying it at the moment so that my brother can have a go, but I will be definitely making a second, less rushed game.

Yes, I like the game. I wished that a few things were better(race choices, more powerful healers), but I'm liking this game. Maybe not as good as DA:O but certainly not rushed garbage.

No you're thinking of appendixes.

Anyway I love this game. My only qualm is the reused dungeons.

Yeah, the junk was more or less pointless.  Just make it money or have it be useable/repairable/quest oriented... something.

Also, there were so many comical moment.  Varric is always fun or having companions who don't like each otehr is alway fun too.

Isabella and Aveline were tons of fun....

Short and sweet - Yes, I am enjoying it. If I have any complaint, it's the "cookie cutter" areas, and that's not bothering me all that much. (so far).

Yeah, I haven't been able to play a bunch as I've just gotten the game today and not to change the subject, but I've been distracted by the catastrophe that hit Japan. Makes me sad.

From what I've played so far, there's a real Dragon Age feel to the game so I feel right at home with it. The graphics are much better, even though I love DAO's graphics still. The combat is a lot more exciting in my opinion. It's a change from DAO no doubt, but I think I can get used to it.

I think people just either like it or they don't. Either way I think Bioware has done a great job on this game. To each their own. Try it out for yourself, don't take someone's word for it.

I'm enjoying pretty much everything, except for the recycled dungeons. That's really starting to wear thin on my patience.

Yesterday I finished my first playthrough and i really enjoyed the game.

The only thing that really bothered me was the reuse of maps over and over again.

Besides that it is an awesome game. When I finished the game my first thought was "WTF". I was very disturbed by the way the story unfolded and ended, But in retrospect I liked it very much, just because of that. I was never so emotionally involved in any other Bioware game. I was really angry when ******* died. Can't wait to see what happens next in DA3.
I very much like the "three personalities voice acting system". My first playthrough was with "nice" Hawke. Now I'm trying "funny" and "badass" Hawke and it's great fun. I hope we'll see this system in ME3 too.
There are many more aspects I like about this game. For me it was and still is money well spent.

Favorite quotes:

"funny" Hawke (on Wounded Coast): "I wonder if it's near the Injured Highlands? Or the Crippled Hills? Massive-Head-Trauma Bay?" "No one? Just me?"

"badass" Hawk: "Talk."

I just finished a 65+ hour playthrough. And I started Tuesday around noon. So yeah, I'd say I enjoyed it.
Enough to spend upwards of fifteen hours a day playing it, anyway.

And I'm probably not going to be able to resist starting a second playthrough tomorrow. Must make a note to self to invest more in willpower...
