Teclo lol Very true it probably will get locked. Which is sad. I rather skip past the negative reviews and just hear some positive feedback. But you are right. Love your comment. I agree highly.

Hellosanta I hear ya lol It's quiet interesting really. I found myself posting back but i got bored with that lol.

So you choose to ignore everything which doesn't match your already made up opinions? Why do you still need reviews then?

Why do you continue to want to know negative feedback? That's like all of them wanting to keep talking about how much they hate the game. I honestly see it going no where. I rather hear other people's opinions on why they liked the game not why they hate it. And honestly your comment makes no sense. Why be here in the first place? Why be on a forum talking about a game?? Seriously. Nice try.

CrashB111 LOL I figured much. I would be playing it myself but my fiancee wanted to play it so we are sharing it at the moment. lol It's pretty good so far. I really like some of the changes. There are a few things I wish they left but ah well it's got my attention with other things. I heard they copy and pasted the dungeons? Do you guys know if this is true or are people exaggerating it a bit? Honest opinion for those who have played through the game.

oh you will see soon enough the same dungeons are used a lot yes, same layouts differnt skins, yes, it can be frustrating but I find that it works ok.

aww that is kinda dissapointing to hear. But hopefully I can ignore it lol. I do like to adventure into new lands and different places. Hopefully I wont notice cause I will be kicking butt. lol But we will see. As long as the story keeps me engaged then it shouldn't be a problem.

yes its an issue, but its literally my only complaint w/ the game. I'm sure you will have hours of fun and not even notice :)

i like this phrase "vocal minority"

Wouldn't you say the "tea party" is a vocal minority? I would and none of their canidates won any office in congress, but the Republicans swept the house sir and a good amount of seats in the senate were won. There is a lot of dissappointment from a lot of people just because some people are not as angry as some does not mean this game is being enjoyed as much as DAO.

The sensationalization of the Tea Party by the media is what gave them an edge, not any inherent superiority within their platform. Since there won't be news stories about how Dragon Age 2 is the devil and is ruining RPGs forever, the vocal minority is really just that, a bunch of whiners on a forum.

Pandaman102 - I agree lol the colors are much better. Graphics have improved not that, that is what makes a game awesome but it's easier on the eyes.

Awesomness - lol LOVE Australia! Too bad it came out later.

I suppose I should say some specific things since the point seems to be the OP wanting to hear the particular things people are enjoying.
  • On the whole, the voice acting is a lot better. There's no stiff and rigid acting like Morrigan (though what little I've seen of male Hawke in videos does seem to be the closest thing), there's no just plain bad stuff (a lot of Origins sounded like they grabbed the cleaning guy from the corridor outside and had him record some lines) and while I haven't heard any freewheeling, improvised sounding stuff like Alistair yet, that's not entirely a bad thing since Alistair always sounded like a modern-day Oxford student who found himself stuck in a fantasy setting (though I can see how non-Brits, particularly Americans, would miss that since it's simply "a British accent" to them).
  • The graphics are sharper, cleaner and more dramatic. Compare the Chantry place in DA2 to the (repeated several times) one in Origins. I'll accept how Ferelden is meant to be more "homely", however.
  • The party banter is really well written and often very funny. In Origins it was leaden, forced and overlong for what it had to offer. The combat feels like combat rather than a disco where everyone is wearing cardboard weapons on their hands.
  • The characters feel more like individual, living, breathing people rather than another created character that happens to have a ****load of sound files that play when you click on them. Them choosing their own wardrobe adds to this, them having their own personal skill trees adds to this, the party banter adds to this, the fact they generally only engage in more lengthy conversations when they're in the place they feel comfortable adds to this.
  • The skill trees themselves are a lot better. Rather than a bunch of linear paths, often with the preceeding choices becoming redundant when the more advanced item was chosen, we now have several meshes made up of nodes of complementing skills.
  • The friend/rival system is good since now you can actually say what you feel and see how it works out rather than worrying about losing approval with one of the fickle egotists that follow you around.
  • The feeling that it takes place in the same world as Origins without feeling beholden to retread the same ground is accomplished really well. Hearing people talk about Alistair as king is cool without feeling fan-servicey, for example.
  • It all feels so believable. There's still some silly stuff, like when two peasants took a leisurely stroll right through the middle of a brutal fight I was having with some thugs, but over all the relationships between the characters is stunningly well done. Loghain was a great, ambiguous character in Origins, and in a very dramatic and epic way. Here there are many more characters with similar ambiguity and conflict at their core, though (so far) in a more realistic and down-to-earth way.
There's more than that, but this post is already too long.

Why are you so desparate to hear positive feedback? You don't really want to hear other peoples opinion, you want to hear them thinking the same as you.
And then you start personal attacks. classy....

Casedawgz LOL

How do you guys feel about the music?? I would say, if I could change anything in the DA series. I would change the music. I found the LOTR style background music if you can call it that is kind of boring and odd. I would prefer a medieval style music for towns and a more intense battle music for fight scenes. I just feel like the honking horns like they used in LOTR is just so typical. lol

What do you guys think. Do you like it? I just turn on Loreena Mckennitt with my xbox and it changes the entire mood of the game. Really adds drama and feeling.

I'm enjoying the game greatly. I would probably still be playing if I didn't have that whole "work" and "sleep" thing to worry about.

Three things that I'm really enjoying:

The story is so great and grey. The moral choices are more complicated then "eat a baby" and "mother Theresa", and very rarely are they clear cut good/evil. The NPCs, on all sides, pretty much support this, and have well-developed and realistic motivations. I think I've only run into a few unambiguously "evil" NPCs (not counting the hordes that swarm the streets after dark), and even they had believable motivations, even if they pretty twisted ones. That a lot of the conflict is character-driven and not plot-driven really helps sell it to me.

The voiced protagonist. Okay, I admit, I was skeptical at first. But it's grown on me, and I think they actually did a pretty good job in how the game chooses Hawke's lines without your direction. I imagine that players that are a bit more schizo in their dialogue choices might not be as pleased, but for me it's worked.

Less micro-management. Sure, I still get to juggle my own armor, but only having to worry about weapons and trinkets on the companions is nice, especially since they mostly have unique weapon styles so it's easy to figure out what can be junked or not.

Anyway, just three things I'm liking about the game. I'm part-way through Act III (not sure just how far) and I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, so it must be doing something right.

I like it, but not as much as I hoped I would. DA:O took a grip of me in the first hours, and I just couldn't stop playing and playing...and I did over 10 playthroughs. Now I just thinkg DA2 is an OK game, but nothing else. Entertaining, but not touching.

There is lots of things that are better in DA2, like inventory. And technically it is much better ,no memory leaks etc. But there are things I absolutely hate. Like how elfs look. After spending a day playing, I still have no clue what the story is really about. I lost Isabela, because there was no hint to go after her to certain place in certain time (not much of a loss, I wouldn't use her anyway, but it is just an example of a bad writing). Combat is really easy. I have killed tons of villains and bandits and whatnots and now when something attacks me, my first thought is "not again, yawn!" In DA:O I swetted to get an optimal build for my char and I enjoyed learning the gameplay, because it was challenging. There is no challenge in this game.

I would rate this 7/10, where DA:O was 9,5/10. This is of course just my opinion, and I believe many people will enjoy this game much more than me.

My thoughts exactly!
This sequel is superb, much better than the origins, I completely agree with the first post about the combat system and the rest of the improvements.
I hadn't noticed that there are some people that find this sequel disgusting, because I was too busy enjoying it for the past 2 days ( and still am )

You people should feel ashamed that you are denigrating BioWare about Dragon Age 2. I find it nearly perfect, they have improved it in nearly every possible aspect. Yes, you need to make some things simpler for them to be more enjoyable and to emphasize other actions, but that doesn't mean that they have taken a step backward like some sentimental and lifeless freaks have reviewed this game.
I believe it is in human nature to be conservative and it takes time to accept changes, especially such dramatic changes that this game has undergone, but these changes have made this game twice as exciting and enjoyable than it's predecessor.
If I could, I would rate DA:Origins as 7.0/10 and Dragon Age 2 as 9.5/10

BioWare has taken a step forward and I thank you for creating this game, I find it to be awesome, it has surpassed my every expectation.

Now that you mention it I do like how everyone has a uniform voice. Always quirked an eyebrow when Murdock (Mayor of Redcliffe) would talk in an incredibly gruff voice, suddenly switch to a slightly softer voice, then switch right back. Man was possessed, I tell you.

I'm enjoying it. There are things I like and dislike, but the game grows on me the more I play it. As it stands, I believe the story is more compelling in DA2--I'm being drawn in more and more trying to figure out what went wrong and why.

The best thing, though, about progressing through the game is my new ability to go to the spoiler board. The non-spoiler board is just spam and trolls and locked posts most of the time.

Yeah, the Origins theme grew on me over time and now I like it, but it still sounds a hell of a lot like something in LotR. It's a shame that not only do most fantasy novels and games feel like they have to be a pale imitation of Tolkien's work, they then move onto being pale imitations of the films too. Outside of the theme, the music in Origins never really stood out to me, I suppose it did its job, though. Neil Gaiman got it right when he said it's sadly ironic that the fantasy genre is probably the least imaginitive now. Yahtzee said a similar thing when pointing out that it's strange to have something called the "standard fantasy setting".

I do really like the pub music in DA2, it's not exactly a masterpiece but then it's entire aim is to have this rustic, warm sound to it and it does that well. Which reminds me of how the pub feels a lot more convincing than the ones in Origins, which were more like barns with 2 people in the corner usually. Again, I feel like the believability of things like old-fashioned, English-style pubs is not going to be something the "why can't I toggle friendly fire?" crowd are going to appreciate, but for me an RPG is about the world convincing and the characters having an emotional impact on you. That puts me in the shoes of my character much more than having a tactical camera or friendly fire.

Im enjoying it. I have issues with the fact that you cannot gear up your party with loot (ok, armor) you scrounge, but other than that I think its a great game. I am a bit confused on the story however. Like, why the hell am I doing what I am doing? DA:O made it clear right from the beginning. DA2 seems to be a bit more cryptic as to why I am doing what I am. Or maybe Im retarded:)
