I have used the makers sigh potion to respec my character multiple times and this last time I used it I noticed it randomly gave me more ability points and an extra specialization point. I reloaded my game and used it again with the same outcome. I should not have 19 ability points and 2 specialization points at level 11. Very annoying because I don't know how many ability points I should have and I do not want to play with an unintentionally overpowered character.

Loading some older save files my character has abilities that I didn't have points in. Abilities I took points out of, put some where else, saved and was playing the game like normal. Load up that save and random abilities...

Alright, so it seems that when you use multiple potions your fine, until you save, exit reload. Then the next potion you use will give you more ability points. And when you reload you may have random abilities you shouldn't. And this effect stacks. I don't know if going to a different area in the game triggers the same effect. But, my character is now broken.

I've just gotten this bug; did you not find a solution?
I've been playing on nightmare, completing EVERYTHING and have clocked 15 hours so far, just about to progress the story further and it's extremely frustrating to think i have to start again because my character will be too strong.
EDIT: Just had a double check, my character is also level 11 and a Rogue if this helps narrow down the bug, Bioware.

Having the same problem. It gives bonus attributes too. My character is way way overpowered now and I can't do anything to fix it. 25 ability points at level 13 because I was experimenting with spells

I have the same thing happening to me. I opened up Creation & Spirit healer early in my playthrough. I got to the Black Emporium and used a Maker's Seigh to respec. AFter doing so I saved and upon loading I had thoes 2 specializations open'd back up and spec'd with talent points I don't actually have. And the thing is, I am lvl 11 and have all the specialization trees open'd up and still have 2 SP to spend. I mean I definitely am looking the gift horse int he mouth on this one. It just doesn't make it fun to have it all opened. There are a few posts about this ussue.

Same here... not only the Maker's sight gives abilities you don't have anymore but it gives extra specialization and talents points too. (Lvl13, I have 6 spe points right now and about 30 talents points...)
I decided not to use the talents i don't "really" have but it seems there is another bug where all my damaging spells cannot be used anymore ("This spell is temporary disable" - in fact, forever disable) if I use a talent I don't really have (but have with the maker's sight bug).

I just saw this bug happening to me. I noticed I had the Rush talent on my Rogue, and I remembered using the respec potion to take that talent out and put that point into something better, but I just noticed it was back. Again I used a potion, took it out, saved, and went on my way. The I noticed it was back, again. The only way I figured I could fixed this was going back to the save I made after the second potion used, and using the console commands to remove the damn talent. Thankfully I caught on to this now, and I wasn't so far ahead on my game from those original respec save points I made, you know, just in case lol. I figured I only got 1 added abilitity point for free. This is one way to fix this, but is not by any means the best one. I shouldn't have to worry about a potion completly unbalancing my game. A least now we know to avoid this potion until this gets fix, hopefully soon.

Are you aware of this bug Bioware? It's really annoying because you can't use the Maker's Sigh potion properly.
