Yeah pretty sure that's just the default texture, my female Hawke had the same ugly hands.

I actually uttered, "Gyah!" when the game cut to that shot. Those are probably the default mesh and texture* for all female characters in the game. I guess you reuse resources whenever you can when you're a game developer on a deadline, even on very important characters.

*Considering all the women--both in DA:0 and DA2 from what I've seen so far--all look like healthy, busty young women from the neck down, I don't know why these would be the default texture. They look like a withered old crone's hands. Like what I'd expect to see on Flemeth in DA:0.

I've got the same problem. Everytime female character's hands are featured prominently in cutscenes I flinch and look away...

I'd read that the hands looked fine in the demo... I uninstalled it, but it'd be interesting if anyone could try and get a screenshot to compare.

Gah! don't remind me . It's weird, because I only remember being freaked out at the female models hands twice (once with Beth- that pic above looks like the scene, and once with Merrill). Which means that they must look normal some of the time. Maybe its a bug with the cutscenes or something? Or is it just more noticeable in the cutscenes?

Yeah, that scared the crap outta me.   Guess high detail ain't always a good thing... (I'm also using  the high def textures.)

I thought I noticed this on Isabela a couple days ago but I wasn't sure if I saw it correctly. That screenshot proves it .. and takes the cake.

Ew, and here I'd managed to repress that cutscene.

Hands in general have lots of problems in the game. When Isabela is drinking you'll see her sticking her hand through her cup, and sometimes when characters hold hands there'll also be clipping issues.

Back to topic. Yes, I was very suprised when seeing those hands as well. And I do recall it looks the same in the demo. Because I remember I was thinking 'maybe' they will redo the texture in release...

No one actually gets it, seriously? Its Bioware poking fun at the fans. People complained bitterly about the brown teeth in DA:O. So this time around they gave everyone pearly white smiles, but gave all the women crone hands. Frankly I realized immediately what was going on and laughed my arse off.
