I'm personally not sayings I hate the game, it does have quite a lot of flaws. I'm just saying its not as good as DA:O and I expected it to be better than origins so I was not happy. good game though. first time not happy with a bioware game but they still the best rpg developers next to bethesda. Bioware still my favorite.

Honestly I think it is the way of games these days with forums and easy way to express your self not that there is any thing wrong with that. But most posts I see are not constructive.

Also every game released these days has the same criticism take rift I dont play it, but played the beta and seems like a solid game but people still bashed on it.

I think we all have to sit back and understand that a game is not just made for one person but for lots of people and that they will target a larger group of people than the minority.

Dont get me wrong there are things I would of changed with the game (like the mini map it gives to much away such as the maps being so linear but the maps where the same in origins but it wasnt so in your face like it is with the mini map.

But hey maybe there is more haters than lovers(or fanboys) but it is hard to say as whiners are usually the loudest (no offense intended) and I think we may have to wait a week or two untill the dust settles down.

Any way thats my two cents worth.

I agree with that.

in a job market with people so feverently doing the best they can to keep jobs, I'm surprised at the massive ammount of FXxc ups in this game that went unnoticed.

Like I said in an earlier thread, this game feels like a RUSHED expansion.

What is happening now has happened before and will always happen with a major game release.

Gaming companies have it easy to be honest, they treat customers horribly and release unfinished products all the time. It's good to see people complain, but i expect them to preorder the next bioware game anyway cause that's how the average gamer works.

My simple opinion, the game is ok (just ok which is frankly a massive disappointment for a game from Bioware who, till now, were my last best hope for cRPGs) for what it is.

My complex opinion, is, that DA2 is bad for a successor to DA:O.
One of the main points EVERY review of DA2 brought up was its return to a more old-school approach to cRPGs (which is why the console versions were noticable inferior to the pc versions since old-School RPG usually needs pc controls).
Now DA2 pretty much completely abandons that and makes the game feel and play like a run of the mill console action RPG.

People feel a bit betrayed by that quite noticable change in direction and I feel that it is a valid point.

Of course many people like it, just like many people like console action RPGs, but the fact remains that DA:O was a strategic RPG and DA2 is an action RPG and people expecting an evolution of DA:Os gameplay are rightfully annoyed that the game has quite drastically changed it's gameplay style.

I'm not happy with the game. From what I can tell, it seems like the community is divided 50/50 over the game.

Maybe the youngsters are happy with it.. I'm 42 and I've seen, and played many games and this is a major gaming letdown.. Don't give me a happy meal and say its a steak.

The only reason why so many comments on the board are negative is that the people who do enjoy the game are playing it rather than listening to people whine about it.

People were complaining just as much when Dragon Age:Origins, Awakening and Mass Effect 2 were released as well.  This is no different and I'm sure the same thing will happen when Mass Effect 3 is released.

The complaints on these forums should not be indicative of the game's reception from fans or it's popularity.
It's just that people love being hipsters so when they have something negative to say they'll always say it thinking they're being insightful and clever pointing out supposed huge flaws which usually don't even matter to most people.

Yeah and I don’t like it when gamers who does not like a
game, think that every gamer will agree with their opinion of a game.

When I buy a game I don’t check review scores or listen to
what others has to say about the game. I look at trailers and read about a game,
and when I know more about the plot and gameplay then I will make the final decision and
purchase the game. I even bought games that had pathetic review scores and it
was one of my best played games.

This is my opinion you can take it or leave it…I really don’t
care. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. Bioware are still one
of my best game developers, and here are 2 big thumbs up Bioware….keep up the
good work. :D

Loving it.
Couple nitpicks of course, but I never expected perfection.

As for these forums... well, haters gonna hate. Just ignore them. They will go away and whine somewhere else in due time.

Just as fanboys are gonna open their mouth and accept whatever gets fed to them. But yes of course the complaining will end, as soon as the disappointment fades we will go back and play games we enjoy.

I'm happy with the game. It's not perfect and there's some stuff I'd prefer to be different but I like it regardless.

The only way this whole  forum community would be happy is if the entire game consisted of talking and romancing.

DA2 is an awful, pale shadow of past glories like Baldur's Gate, Planescape (not Bioware, but still), DA:O, etc.

I'm enjoying the game greatly, that's not to say it is better than Origins, but it does have a few things about which I like better than they were in Origins.

Overall I wouldn't say it surpasses the first DA, but it's still a very good game.
