But considering that the people who don't like something will be roughly ten times as vocal about their distaste as people who like it will be about their approval we can see that the former only represent 5% of the total population. MY MATHS IS IRREFUTABLESoilborn88 wrote...
I'm not happy with the game. From what I can tell, it seems like the community is divided 50/50 over the game.

Did you see the Metacritic score? No, the community is not happy.
It says 84... which imho fits the game. (If you refer to user reviews, lol, read some of the low reviews and maybe you get a hint, lol)
I am indeed happy for the game. It's not Biowares best, but it's still an amazingly huge and satisfying game for me.
Though admittedly, so far (act 2?) I still think Drakensang: River of Time did the frame narrative a tad little bit better. Loved how the party-wipe was commented on in the frame narrative.

The only reason why so many comments on the board are negative is that the people who do enjoy the game are playing it rather than listening to people whine about it.
Keep telling yourself that.
Maybe if oyu belive hard enough, it will become true...
But really? People are playing 24/7, not taking breaks..and in days they don't post?

People were complaining just as much when Dragon Age:Origins, Awakening and Mass Effect 2 were released as well. This is no different and I'm sure the same thing will happen when Mass Effect 3 is released.
The complaints on these forums should not be indicative of the game's reception from fans or it's popularity.
It's just that people love being hipsters so when they have something negative to say they'll always say it thinking they're being insightful and clever pointing out supposed huge flaws which usually don't even matter to most people.
No YOU are happy with the game not THE COMMUNITY. Dont use yourself as the whole community.
The title of this post ehould be I AM HAPPY WITH DRAGON AGE 2

Not sure you're old enough to do the "irrefutable math" but if you say so...

The only way this whole forum community would be happy is if the entire game consisted of talking and romancing.
Or if it had simply maintained the iso camera view from DAO maybe?

It really is true that most of the people who like the game are ACTUALLY PLAYING IT STILL. What I found really ridiculous was all the people bashing it on day 1, when it was physically impossible for them to have played through the game.
Game leaked a week early for pirates who wanted to try before they buy, most pirates speak more truth than arse hurt buyers remorse liars.

DA2 is an awful, pale shadow of past glories like Baldur's Gate, Planescape (not Bioware, but still), DA:O, etc.
nothing like decade old technology, eh?
Nope, there is nothing like it all, and people still want it because it was that good, and everything since then in RPGs has been gradually getting worse and worse for the sake of dumbing the game down for consoles.

Really?, this game was released on the 8th in the US, it's now the 11th, how much time would you suggest they need?, it's already been shown a play through can take as little as 16 hours, seriously any competant person can judge a game in just the first couple of hours.Turnip Root wrote...
Those reviews came out hours after the game was released. There is no way they played enough of the game to give an objective opinion of the game.

They are load and spam the whole forum.
They only see the negative things and the negative review scores. But there are a lot of good ones.
If ppl dont like it you cant convince em that they will.
I have been very critic about the game from the start. But now I am playing it I love it. Only negative point is the few locations.
And I understand the xp is less on console because you just button bashing lot of the time. Please try PC version.

check ratings on:
- tests
- amazon
- metascores
- etc.
but nice assumption... does not make the game better

It is true, however, that this is not the same unanimous storm of praise that usually follows a Bioware game. Sure, the forums may have been full of rage when DA:O or ME2 were released as well, but I would argue that there IS a difference: Despite the forum rage, those two games were universally beloved by professional critics and have great ratings on Amazon. This time, there are professional reviews that support the forum rage, even if not all of them do. It is clear that many people believe something is wrong with the game - the negative feedback goes beyond the usual forum trolls.

Reviews aren't as bad as some people make it seem. Many of the Metacritic users are obviously trolls, many professional reviewers enjoyed the game and on Amazon, only the PC version has bad ratings.

I can say this, even with my dislike of the "streamlining" of ME2, I have never been anything less than pleased with a Bioware release. This game sickens me.

Yes-man brown nosing does not help anyone. You want the best for the game developing company that you want? Let them know the truth. And if you're a casual gamer, you really have no room to talk. Yeah, casual gamers buy games and are majority of the market right now with their dumb concoles.
But it's casual gamers who have slowly shifted the landscape and unfortunately ruined the games industry.
Games don't get made because people want them to be made. They don't get made because developers want to present us with a new world. They get made to make money, and solely for that reason.
If you can't rebutt the criticisms to this game with proper arguments vs. strawmen and ad-homiems (haters are just malcontents, dont listen to them!) then keep your mouth under lock down.
