I thoroughly enjoy the game (30 hours in now).

While I am disappointed about the DX 11 troubles and the copy pasted houses, caves and undergrounds (I mean really even the main plot locations are all the same), I like the game for what it provides: an engaging story with combat that satisfies ME more than DA:O's counterpart.

Simply let the game entertain you instead of starting it with the "I won't like it" mindset. This game can be enjoyed^^

Reviews aren't as bad as some people make it seem. Many of the Metacritic users are obviously trolls, many professional reviewers enjoyed the game and on Amazon, only the PC version has bad ratings.

It is true, however, that this is not the same unanimous storm of praise that usually follows a Bioware game. Sure, the forums may have been full of rage when DA:O or ME2 were released as well, but I would argue that there IS a difference: Despite the forum rage, those two games were universally beloved by professional critics and have great ratings on Amazon. This time, there are professional reviews that support the forum rage, even if not all of them do. It is clear that many people believe something is wrong with the game - the negative feedback goes beyond the usual forum trolls.

I can say this, even with my dislike of the "streamlining" of ME2, I have never been anything less than pleased with a Bioware release. This game sickens me.

No one cares what you think because if you dont like the game and criticize it, then you are automatically a TROLL!!!!

Just kidding

Don't try to speak for people, especially when you have no evidence to back it up except for the theoretical. Some people aren't happy with this game. Accept it. 60 bucks was the price of their opinion.

The only reason why so many comments on the board are negative is that the people who do enjoy the game are playing it rather than listening to people whine about it.

People were complaining just as much when Dragon Age:Origins, Awakening and Mass Effect 2 were released as well.  This is no different and I'm sure the same thing will happen when Mass Effect 3 is released.

The complaints on these forums should not be indicative of the game's reception from fans or it's popularity.
It's just that people love being hipsters so when they have something negative to say they'll always say it thinking they're being insightful and clever pointing out supposed huge flaws which usually don't even matter to most people.

I didn't whine about Origins, ME, ME2, Awakening and I'm not even whining about DA2. I personally try to suggest constructive things for the future. And you know what? Nope I'm not happy and I consider myself in the community. So change your title, as I have been told before.

Yeah, I'm deeply concerned about some 4chan trolls' opinions.

Funny thing, I recall DA:O being the end of bioware and the betrayal of all that is good and holy and a (I love this phrase) a slap in the face of all their loyal fans, etc.

People work themselves into a lather of expectations and then are disappointed with anything and everything.

DA2 has been incredibly fun for me. What else matters?

Not a damn thing B)

Yeah and I don’t like it when gamers who does not like a
game, think that every gamer will agree with their opinion of a game.

When I buy a game I don’t check review scores or listen to
what others has to say about the game. I look at trailers and read about a game,
and when I know more about the plot and gameplay then I will make the final decision and
purchase the game. I even bought games that had pathetic review scores and it
was one of my best played games.

This is my opinion you can take it or leave it…I really don’t
care. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. Bioware are still one
of my best game developers, and here are 2 big thumbs up Bioware….keep up the
good work. :D

This.

I'm happy with the game. People nowadays seem to love to drink vinegar so much, they forget to get off their high horse, stop their elitist attitudes and just enjoy stuff.

Also their is a difference between people like DownyTif who actually give constructive criticism, and trolls who hate stuff because... because they're hatefull trolls I guess.
Blind hate leads to nothing. Healthy criticism like I've seen from Downy Tiff leads to better products in general.

Much appreciated! I think it's really important to be constructive since like you said it might help the future. I just hope Bioware read what I write.
Thanks :)

It's a mixed bag, some like it, some don't.

Aside from the gear change I was mostly defending it here.

Now when I play it I can't; since the game feels like a bad hybrid at points, and half baked at others.

OR.
Copy paste dungeons, really? How horrible is your level editor if you can't move assets inside around a little bit?

Horrible hands on NPCs - who missed this?

Stretched textures around the breasts on many armours that are in all else well made with good texel values - did someone decide to cash in by engorging your mother?

Some fights are horrible plays on using pause well and manually sending people out of blast zones, again and again.

Or I love parts of the game, but I'm probably going to stop playing since I'm so horribly bored with one of the boss fights; or you do as follows. Keep away by micromanaging your parties positions, once the Boss is deflowered you rush in, rinse and repeat. IT takes for ever on NM, and its not hard, just a time consuming horrible mess. Also the camera, and the lack of any sort of waypoint system just makes combat terrible at points.

So until, if ever, the game is fixed I'll probably not play it.

& as for your opinion about the community? I've played BW since BG1, and I've played their Obsidian sequels; I've played BG for countless of hours, beating it 4-5 times from BG1 all through BG:TB, I've played Jade Empire 4-5 times, KOTOR 1 4 times, DA:O 5 times, the Awakening once, ME1 and ME2 3-4 times each. (And NWN 1 only to act 3, but I've played the Obsidian NWN2 a lot more) . & While I'm only small part, you now claim to speak for me?

& I don't hate DA2, in some respects this is the best BW has ever done; love the art, the design direction, love the abilities, the world; I like most of it, but its half done, and its trying to be something that it fails at, and I can't enjoy this product, and its sad because in most aspects its a labour of love and care, and I wish it would have had the time it needed to blossom.

It really is true that most of the people who like the game are ACTUALLY PLAYING IT STILL. What I found really ridiculous was all the people bashing it on day 1, when it was physically impossible for them to have played through the game.

The same is said about every game. Hell, i even heard it of Warhammer Online, a game of another company EA destroyed, another game that was rushed.

Some people don't understand anything. Hey, its an okay action rpg. Okay being the key word. People are upset because the game is a total turnaround from something great that they loved. When I finished the game I thought this is a 3 (on a scale from 1-10), but that was because I was severly dissapointed. Now I am thinking its a 6,5. My point is that its easy to hate dislike something when you get dissapointed. If this wasnt a DA game I am pretty sure the reception would have been a lot better. But for fans of the original game (not thinking about people who thought it was just okay), it is a dissapointing game... and its clear that bioware is aiming towards another crowd. It should be understandable that people complain. Personally I hate the direction of this game... so many better choices out there if I wanted something mainstream. I

Speak for yourself, not for the community. I am not happy with the game, I am content. It's a good game, but I much preferred DAO. DAO had more of many good things (Origins, being able to fully equip companions, being able to quickly switch between two different weapon sets, having recognizeable icons for armor and weapons in your inventory etc ... and I have not really been given a good reason why these things are lacking in DA II - okay, I can understand why no origins). There are hardly any things that DA II does better than DAO.

I assume you're talking about the fan reviews since most professional reviews have been very positive.

Those reviews came out hours after the game was released.  There is no way they played enough of the game to give an objective opinion of the game.

by all means enjoy the game im glad you do, but dont put to much faith in profesional reviews theres to many factors involved to take them for at face value. For example one of the first reviews i read (fron the guardian i believe ) had fundamentaly misunderstood the games setting yet still felt themselves in a position to give it a high score other groups are simply to too scared to go against the grain or the big developers. Conversly, many fans look favourably on alphaprotocol yet the reviews for this were pretty terrible

Blind hate leads to nothing

But the criticism was explained, or did i miss something?
Here a recap of some of the points:
reused environments
static npcs
simpler tactical gameplay
simpler item system
bad camera
no party inventory
simpler character customization
simpler, simpler, simpler... like the new target group: COD players
etc. etc.

i am not saying that all the "improvements" of DA2 are bad. but it is missing a lot origins had. and why not compare a game to its predecessor? what would be more obvious?

I assume you're talking about the fan reviews since most professional reviews have been very positive.

it is not true and what do you mean by that? only "professional" reviewers' opinions are worth noticing? awesome logic!

People who are disappointed with a product, ANY product, are always going to be more vocal. A lot of the people who are enjoying the game are either playing it or don't feel a need to speak out. It's much more compelling for people to express an opinion when it is a complaint. I come on here to try and diffuse some of the negativity because I am enjoying the game, and also to give some constructive criticism because there are things I wish they had not changed from Origins. But there are some improvements also and all in all I love it.

That is if you believe that such polls are not tempered with by the EA marketing guys to make a more favorable impression. Capitalism is all about money, that means a company will do everything it can get away with to increase their chance of more money. Morals, truth, and all such philosophic nonsense, is relative, money everything. Brought to you by US army and many many wars.
