I do not want to kill the Dalish, does anyone no of a way of how not to kill them. It might be to late for my character since I romance with merrill and the choices I made probably led to this. But if anyone knows of a way to not kill the dalish please let me know.
How not to kill the Dalish, I need Help.

When you exit the cave, take the "I take responsibility" dialog option.

and then never bring Merrill back there again. The guide says that if you do they will attack on sight. They must really hate her for being a blood mage. And she's one of the shining examples of how Blood Magic isn't inherently evil, but that's for another thread.

Wait what, there was a choice to kill the dalish? I selected the "I take responsibility" because I thought it was the best choice. Whew, saved myself from a bit of a slaughter there.

On my play through the only option that works is telling them that Merril will never hurt hurt anyone ever again with blood magic.

Wow, I chose the "She became a demon" option thinking that saying that I will take full responsibility doesn't really mean anything. Thank goodness for the checkpoints!

I didn't know you could avoid slaughtering the Dalish. I'm glad to know it. Thank you.

Tell them "Instead of killing me, why not distract yourself from your unspeakable rage by having some of these delicious Hostess Fruit Pies."

Why would you not want to kill the dalish?

I'll get the roast nug sandwiches and some spiced wine imported directly from Skyrim. That way I have dinner and a show.
The dalish can die if they want to commit suicide via Hawke and Merrill. Their arrogance blinds them to the real dangers on the mountain. Granted, I don't want them dead either. I just don't want to deal with Dalish because of said arrogance.
[quoete] Hawke: Maybe I should...wait, I left my pointy ears and self-righteousness at home.
Dalish: How dare you, you...Shemlen![/quote]

I have to admit, I actually did kill the Dalish at one point, but ended up chickening out and reloading from a previous save just because I didn't want to have to put Merrill through that. It wasn't out of any sentiment for those self-righteous, arrogant and stuck-up fools, it was because Merrill was hurting and she deserved better.

The first time I played through, Merrill outright says that the clan would rather destroy themselves than admit they're wrong. Or I may be misremembering. But it's true. They do prefer their own destruction than even consider the idea that maybe their keeper was wrong about Merrill and the eluvian.
I know Merrill has a lot of haters, and I tire of arguing with them, but there is logic to the whole mirror is dangerous. We Merrill supporters acknowledge that the mirror can be dangerous. But I honestly don't understand why anyone would rather place all the blame for the clan's destruction on Merrill when she has absolutely nothing to do with Merethari choosing to become an abomination without consulting anyone in the clan or blame Merrill for the clan blaming her for Merethari's death despite being an abomination.
As for the Dalish clan, I was shocked that they would try to kill Hawke and Merrill, but when I thought about it, I was surprised they hadn't tried to do so earlier after Pol's death. Merethari was telling everyone at that point that Merrill would bring back the darkspawn taint irregardless of the fact that Merrill had been in possession of the "tainted" shard for years without being tainted, or anyone around her being tainted.

I killed the Dalish along with Merrill ... but after that, there was no cutscene or dialogue options that discussed the issue. So she seems pretty cool with us having destroyed her entire clan.

I choose to kill the Dalish because the other option stops just short of putting the murder knife in Merril's back.

Has anyone else tried this? Once i just ran away from the group in the camp itself. Only a few followed, were killed near the exit of the map and combat ended, allowing me to leave. Some, including Arianni, just remained at the camp.

If I send Fen to them , I let them live, if not they die. Not that i care for them but, Fen likes them and I like fen so, they live. if he goes to the circle, then the Dalish die.
