 I slept with Isabella. Obviously.

Then I asked Merrill to move in with me after we slept together. She got a substantially more awesome outfit.

My question is...I want to complete the Isabella relationship line, not so much the Merrill one, but I'd like her to keep her cool outfit. Can I pursue the Isabella relationship completely still, or should I reload prior to hooking up with Merrill if I want to complete the Isabella relationship and just avoid romancing Merill altogether?

Not sure as I am in the same boat. I slept with Isabella then pursued Merrill and asked her to move in. I then went to The Hanged Man and got a dialogue with Isabella where she asks about my relationship with Merrill and there was a Heart Icon "Jealous?" option that has your character stating that Isabella is the only woman for you. I dont know what happens next except Merrill is still living in her shack and I dont have any new quests for either of them to further the relationship in chapter 2.

Yeah I decided to play it safe and stick with just romancing Isabela, I might see if you can do both on another play through but on my first I'd like things to go smoothly. Let me know how it turns out for you though, please!

Sorry in advance for some of the cross-posting that's about to happen, but I did some testing with
Merrill vs Anders relationships (after sleeping with Isabella, obviously ). Letting Merrill move in killed the romance scripting with Anders. I don't know if that reflects Anders' monogamy or Merrill's possessiveness, but food for thought.

The official guide says, having a character move in with Hawke kills other romances and to not flirt with another love interest, or there will be consequences regarding the person who moved in with Hawke.

Wow romance issues when you try to maintain multiple partners that all know each other - sounds suspiciously like real life to me - what were they thinking when they scripted that?? (insert saracasm tags here LOL)
