I installed the Mac version of the game on my MBP (2.53 GHz, 4GB RAM, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 9400M) last night. The install seemed to work fine, however the game would hang on launch. Ran the apple Software Update to ensure it was fully up to date. No luck.

I perused the forums, and took inspiration from the PC issues forum to disable iAntivirus, which worked! Once. I was able to play last night to my heart's content. I have just tried again today (again, with disabling iAntivirus), and it is now hanging again on launch. It just shows up in Activity Monitor as "Not Responding". Has anyone else encountered this?

Anything I can try?? :(

Update: just checked the console, found this in the log:
11/03/11 6:38:17 PM DragonAgeLauncher[711] Could not find image named 'bu7_dn'.
attempted a reinstall, made no difference.

The minimum graphic card supported is the 9400. I'm wondering if the 9400M is less powerful (as it's a mobile version) so perhaps you're on the edge grapiics card wise (not sure).

I have a vague memory of similar problems with DA:O (on my iMac) and that I had to start the activity monitor (Finder->Applications->Utilities->Activity Monitor) and under processes I found DragonAge after the game had crashed that I had to kill. Perhaps worth a try?

I'm having this problem too, this is the error report (well the top bit). I'm running the new i7 quad core, with 8GB ram and 1GB video ram in the new ATI card. It seems to be CIDER (in fact the original DragonAge is not longer launching at all:

Have you attempted updating to Mac OS X 10.6.7?

Nope, I run on a Macbook with 9400M just fine.

I doubt 10.6.6 is the reason, as I'm playing mine in 10.6.6 just fine.

I'd suggest uninstalling & reinstalling?
