 Can't seem to find them all. So far I just remember getting them at the Chantry and the Viscount's Keep. Anyone else know where they are?

4:Wounded Coast
5:Bone Pit
6:Darktown = this is the last place you go for this Quest. Destroy all of the books or the Quest will not end.

They are often located in Unlabled Caves. Just explore those areas and you will find them. What is giving me problems right now is the scrolls (don't remember the name of the quest or item).

@ JamesX....i believe your referring to the arwegian scrolls. If so there are a few different threads in the forums about it. You'd just have to search thru n find one that helps. I havent completed that quest yet either.

ok. about the tomes. i have been too all these places and destroyed the ones at the locations but still have no guest option in Darktown. i even assumed that darktown would have one just because its kind of a secluded place and easy to hide stuff in...

This happened to me as well. I tried to reload from an earlier save, and it didn't fix it. I hope they come out with a patch to fix this because there are 2 quests in Act 2 and 3 in Act 3 that I can't complete.

I have all but one book destroyed in my quest for the elusive Xbenxbeck. The only one i am missing is the Wounded Coast "Dank Cave" and its blocked off. I go to where the entrance is supposed to be, but its blocked off.
Do i have to wait to Act 3 to get the last book as i even got the one in the Nexus Golem room already.

Is there a bug on this quest?

As far as i know its not bugged, if you do anything other than destroy the books you cant finish the quest. I havent got to finish the quest myself because i read one the books, so im gonna have to catch it on my next playthrough. The quest is no longer available in act 3 however.

if i took one of the books then i screwed the rest of the quest up havnt i? :/

It appears that if you read or take only one of these books instead of destroying them makes you unable to complete the quest.
For PC there is an option to still complete the quest through editing your saved game with gff editor:

you should still be able to do it. just change the location in your area list and entry area in a new save with the party with which you want to play
