Sandbox games do have their downfalls, but the freedoms of going anywhere and exploration are also great. It will be nice to wade through streams, swim, jump and climb in a fantasy world. The story likely will not be too complex, but it will cater do a different group of people who are more about the exploration, so it's all apples and oranges.
It will be interesting to guess at whether DA 2 or Skyrim will garner a larger crowd of fans, basing age, gender and interest of the fans but it's also something that can't be guessed at accurately.

no physx but it uses Havok's physics.. and u can skip the qte's which will only occur during boss fights.. the game already has all of these stuff in it, its done, it only needs polishing... and unlike oblivion it doesnt need to take out any of those feature because the game isnt going to be on consoles.captain.subtle wrote...
I doubt that Wicher 2 will deliver everything it promises though. Its like 16 separate endings, massively overhauled graphics and game engine, huge internal variations in plot, QTE combat (that should be easy actually), pysiX engine, weather and day night cycles being more effective (they were less so according to devs in the first part), mature story, long tactical boss-fights etc... That's just too big a promise. A development time of 3 years is certainly less in my opinion for all that.
EDIT: Did I forget 3d responsive environment where you can actually throw people off cliffs? I think I did. Sorry.

It was 2006... Now it's 2011. Also The Witcher in 2007. IF RPGs with so many flaws get a pass even in 2011 I will lose all hope for humanity.

+1 to these guys. As good as Skyrim looks, something tells me HR is going to completely dominate it.

DA2 is one of best rpg i,ve played this year
it is a shame skyrim will steal all the awards from DA2
as we all know skyrim will have tons of bugs and crash every 5 min
the only problem with DA2 is are cooldown times
and i thought the DA:O characters are a little better
but everything else is much better
