I mean, I've finished the game in 16 hours (I bet you can guess what difficulty I was in) and experienced most of the game (Couple of side-quests were skipped and romance. Don't look at me like that!). Doesn't mean I won't do a second playthrough, maybe as a warrior?
32 hours , really?

It's mostly all about difficulty really.

32 is about how long ME2 lasted. Sounds fine to me.

A lot of areas of DA:O felt needlessly long and circuitous. (I'm looking at you, Fade, Deep Roads, Andraste's Ashes.)
So, I'm fine with the length.

It could be possible. I'm over 32 hours and still in Act 2. But I'm doing all of the quests, talking to random people, and reading codex entries. Generally, if it gets highlighted with the tab key, I check it out.

Took me 18 hours on hard. I did every quest, but combat is just too easy. Should have really bumped it up to nightmare.

I just started Act 2 and I'm sitting at 25 hours.
I clocked close to 100 on DA:O

It took me over 3 days to finish it, playing it all day. That's commendable.

I finished with 33 hours. Looked back and realized I missed quite a few things. I could easily squeeze another 6 hours with how much I missed.

I'm about 25 hours in. I've done a few main plot quests in Chapter 2 and a few side quests. I think this game is way better than Origins. Origins had a tendency to get crazy boring later in the game. DA2 has kept my interest constantly so far and I much prefer the way the shifted it to be more akin to ME2. The dialog and story flow so much better now.

Shorter? It felt ages to complete Act 1. The only reason Origins is longer is because there were a lot more side quests. Which was annoying really.

Length of a game does not equal quality.

42 hours as a mage on normal. It took about the same amount of time for me to finish DAO so whatevs.
Honestly, I don't feel like I was cheated out of content.
On my second play through now as a rogue. I've been skipping through dialogue, etc, and I'm about 25% of the way through Act II after about 7 hours. Combat's MUCH faster.
Oh and Mass Effect 2 took around 30+ hours - with what seems like half that time watching loading screens and probing for resources. Those things killed replayability...

About 50 hours in DA:O and 40 in ME2 (I did a lot of mining) I'm nearing the end of the second act and think I'm almost at 15 hours. Not too shabby.

It took me roughly 38 hours for my first playthrough. My DA:O first playthrough took me around 49 hours (add another 4-5 hours for DLC).

My first playthrough clocked in at 34 hours, level 22 mage. Did most of the side quests, though I didn't finish Merrill's final companion quest (or maybe I "finished" it without doing something... it bugged after the fight with the demon). Don't feel "cheated" at all. A little shorter then some RPGs? Yeah. But I never really felt like I was just in a stupid dungeon crawl for the sake of a stupid dungeon crawl, the sidequests were of negligible annoyance and I had a blast.
Stupid Anders still broke my poor Hawke's heart at the end though...

i actually disagree. to me, it was more a pain in the ass to get randomly attacked in every street at night, some of the side quests were just plain boring. go back to that same old dungeon/cave you were just in, but this time find x instead of y there and then you go back again for z. i did everything in act 1 and 2 and by act 3 i was so bored of side quests i just did main plot ones. it took me 35 hours and i hit lvl 21.
in contrast, i spent over 60 hours in my last playthrough in DA:O and i did everything i could remember, hitting about lvl 22 i think before i started awakening.
this game feels much more of an expansion then a sequel, and should have cost less. it doesnt even conclude any plot points? i understand they wanted to leave an open end to the mage vs templar war, but at least close out kirkwell. what happens after the meredith fight? who takes over if your pro-mage?

42 hours in DA:O, that's my max, with every single quests completed. (No DLC), and the dlcs from what I gather are pretty short, so what the heck were you doing these 28 hours? Wasting time in Denerim's brothel? :s
--- Didn't check how long it took me to finish Awakening.

The game only had a year in development and was way longer than me2. I have no complaints regarding the length. DA:O had 3 years more dev time (at least), does anyone honestly think 2 would be as long? use your brain.
And the game definitely has replay value to make different decisions, for any fan of the series I'd say you'd do 2 playthroughs which makes for 60 hours.
