Oh yes, heavens no it doesn't take a few hours more! As as all know gameplay and story mean nothing if the game isn't long as hell.

Though I agree they were 3 years off of the decade claim.

I'm playing on Nightmare, 24 hours in and I'm not even out of act 1 yet.  Characters are level 9 as of the time I went to bed last night.

My initial run in Origins (also Nightmare) took 84 hours.  This was before any of the post release dlc.  My final play of the game, with all of the dlc, including post campaign stuff like Golems, Witch Hunt and Awakening totaled about 80 hours.

Assuming that I end up at level 25, like people seem to be, I'm about a third of the way done with DA2.  Which would mean  @70 hours.  I only expected to get about 50 out of it, so I'd say I'm pretty satisfied at this point.

I got to about 45 hours...that pleased me quite well..

Considering it doesn't have the ball crushing depth of DA:O, 25+ hours is pretty damn impressive imo. (even with some copy paste areas..which I still oddly enjoyed)

Took me about 35 hours to finish the game, that's including DLC. That's quite shorter then DA:O, but in my eyes still a full sized game (compared to other BW games, it's equal to ME2, longer then JE).

I am 13 hours in and not to the deep roads. I read a lot of stuff, make sure I leave no corner unexplored. I think I will be in the 60 hour range, but who knows, I'm just trying to enjoy it rather than count hours. Anybody know if there is a save limit?

I got 45 hours out of it and didn't complete all the quests. So, I can see this being a 50 hour game.

I'm still busy reading all the codexes, admiring the view, tinkering with inventory and generally just puttering along.

So your crazed hamster-on-meth speed runs sound fairly sad and pathetic to me.

Plus, f*ck off my lawn before I cane you.

I have 56 hours in DA:2, and STILL have at least 1/4 of Act 3 left. I only had around 58 hours in DA:O (around 86 with all DLC's) so I'm happy with them both, can't wait for more DLC for DA:2 now though LOL.

34 hours for me. 50 for the original. how do u spend 70hrs playing ME2? Took me 30.

Not hard. I do every single assignment and mission possible. Tack that on with the DLC's and I get about 70 hours out of it.

Its understandable that without DLC's DA2 will fall short, but still, this game feels tiny in comparison to DAO and Bioware's other later titles.

I'm calling bs on this, unless you you aren't in the US/Canada. Its not even been out 4 days yet, and you posted 15 hours ago, there is not enough time for you to play 70 hours. If you played 70 hours then u haven't slept in the last 3 days. You would also not have had enough time to do anything else in the last 3 days to have gotten 70 hours, no eating, sleeping ,showering, or work.

Given the fact that that's about as long as most of my playthroughs of Origins were, I'd be happy to see if DA2 makes it up to that amount for me. (I'm in the beginning of Act 2, so I have awhile to go.)
Sure, there are several places where the length could have been extended, such as the time you spend with the smugglers or mercenaries, but overall I'm happy with the current length I've garnered from the game.

I beat Dragon Age II in 33 hours, did all side quests (except one, which was bugged (see "who needs rescuing")), finished at level 25.

First time through Origins took me 75 hours. 40 doing everything if I skipped dialogue.
Mass Effect 2 took me 28 hours doing everything.

But honestly, Dragon Age II was 33 hours of pointless side quests. Mass effect 2 was 28 hours of storyline and companion quests.

I'm almost finished with Act ][ and am at 21.5 hours and level 17 on Normal. Doing most side quests. Satisfied, even happy!

I'm at around 40 hours and not through act iii. It's not short if you do all the sidequests and listen to all the dialogue. Not as long as DAO, but that's ok.

I'm 25 hours in, and half-way through Act III. I think I can finish this in a little more than 30.

Pity. If that is the case, then this game is slightly shorter than ME2 for me.

The length is good. BioWare should aim for the 30-35 hour mark.

DA:O took me 75 hours of real time to complete.

What were you doing in DA:O that took you 75 hours to complete it? That's understandable if you did everything possible. Otherwise, that's just ridiculous and DA:O must have been your first RPG. DA:2 can stretch way past 32 hours if you do all the quests and take your time.
