Mike, no. Knock this **** off. You've already sunk $300 million into The Old Republic, and you'll have enough fun keeping that running once it's done.
Stick to what you guys have proved you know best, an immersive single player experience.
I would say this exept I think DA 2 has already proven the franchise will be departing from it's roots more so with every expansion or sequel, so nothing could really surprise me at this point.
I guess that fits right in with his claim on the changes
within DA2 was for offering more content, despite his casual displeasure with
the reviews. First, I don't see what "more content" there is
in the initial release of DA2, what did he mean by “more content”?? Mr. Laidlaw
even went on to say that the Mass Effect conversation system was (not verbatim,
just paraphrasing) an influence on the one used in DA2; here's what he said
about the content:
www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-10-biowares-mike-laidlaw-a-defence-of-dragon-age-ii-interview
"There are some things I
think that are certainly fair criticisms: the re-use of the levels is something
we knew was a bit of a risk, but we wanted to make sure there was more content
rather than less, so re-using some of the spaces and coming to them again was
certainly one we were careful about and tried to re-use as artfully as we
could. "
Not much can be said for "artfully as we could", when all you have is
a game with mostly recycled locations and upgrades that have no effect on the
looks of companion armors, so I am in a conundrum what he means by
"more content". The rest of the interview is a bit revealing, if you
feel like reading it all.
