Because that theory is actually reasonable...

Why are you presuming that this is all they are thinking? This very interview showed how they plan to rectify one of the biggest issues with DA2, the dungeon recycling.

How about he talks of the possiblity of a good game with solid gameplay mechanics and a interesting well thought out and expansive world for it all to take place in?

I like the idea of the Warden+Hawke co-op as a DLC only; it would be short, and could be rather entertaining. I don't want to see a full game with any sort of multiplayer mode however, as I think it would be difficult to integrate into the game well. Maybe Bioware could prove me wrong in this, but I have my doubts.

Hmmm.... ME2 got attacked and now DA2 is getting attacked and both are spouting multiplayer rumors for the next installment. I think they should focus on what people thought was wrong and needed to be fixed instead of saying "Oh people didn't like the last game, maybe if we put in multiplayer everyone will like us and the games again."

Bioware should just make a multiplayer RPG game instead of trying to put it into an established single player game like ME and DA.

You realize that a lack of multiplayer is what some people thought was wrong with the ME and DA games, right?

I think the Dragon Age series would be great with co-op play similar to Baldur's Gate. I just don't see any negative you could possibly come up with for being able to have a friend along instead of one of the companions. So long as it is done properly, of course.

No to Hawke as the main character for DA3.

Didn't they say that the "world" is the character the games will be based on, and not a reoccurring main? I mean, that's the spiel they gave us for our Warden not coming back (though, it was likely just a lame excuse to get people to stop asking them about the Warden, and never really intended to be true).

The only thing they've confirmed for future Hawke content were expansions and DLC, something that they've been saying for quite sometime now.

DA3 is probably not even thought of yet, so all they did was not ruling out this possibility.

Neverwinter Nights had the best multiplayer system of any game pretty much ever. WoW can pretty much go suck on a toad in comparison to NWN.

If they did that with DA, it would be freaking awesome. If they try and go MMO, it will mean the series is officially dead to me.

Multiplayer sucks valuable resources and staff from game development. Many people already believe that DA2 was a rush job, how much do you think the single player campaign would suffer if they diverted even 5% of their focus to multiplayer?

I agree, suprise the hell out of me, why they'll do soemthing like that? Aren't they short of resources and thats the reason for Awakening and DA2?
I don't understand, keeping servers UP is not cheap or free, are they going to do it a la diablo2?  Now they'll have to work on how to keep BOTS from the online comunity.. Oh well I guess going to be looking somewere also for games.

No thanks to the multi player idea, such a feature gets ruined quickly by hackers, modders, cheaters and whiny, squeaky voice brats screaming down their mic at everyone while singing.

It would be annoying to be in a boss battle only to be pestered by some badly raised idiot who think himself the greatest thing ever just because he played some slapped together yearly shooter rehash and now fancises himself as the greatest thing ever in an RPG just because he has a big sword and all the skill of a dead fly.

Plus not everyone has a strong enough net connection like others will do, it would be too much trouble to even connect let alone play.

Single player all the way for me, less hassle.

How is multi-player a "missing ingredient" for a single player series??

Well.. they killed the RPG Aspect already with DA2, why not fully transform it into another "kewl" MMO for the many many MMO Players out there.. oh yeah -.-

Bioware has done MP well in the past and kept their story rich and entertaining for SP players. One of the greatest things about NWN MP was the MODS. How you could go in and make a PW, throw it on a server and play how you wanted.

If they gave us similar tools this time around, that would be great, but I fear we would see even further 'STREAMLINING'

The acute disdain for multiplayer on these forums is always highly amusing.

It's not like I hate all kinds of multiplayer...Multiplayer in a fighting game, like Marvel vs. Capcom or Street Fighter is right, in racing games, in shooters like COD or Halo, or Gears of War...but I really, really hate it in RPGs.

Just no. No. Certain games are built for MP, others aren't. Bioware games generally AREN'T!

Stick to SP please. Vast majority of fans want it that way.

Hmm. Maybe it's in the works already for him to even suggest it. At this point it seems inevitable as so many games seem to go this route.

Well, Neverwinter Nights is an amazing Bioware's multiplayer game with an ever more amazing community of RP'ers and toolset magicians! Also, BG had a cool mplayer.

Not every game needs multiplayer too be good or successful. Heck sometimes it's more trouble and brings the game down a bit like in Fable. Maybe I'll risk a co-op option, but no multiplayer.
