I don't put a whole lot of stock into what is said in party banter during missions. So, maybe I'm wrong, but I think what she said was just a joke on Bioware's part.

I  disagree.  I do not think there was that kind of hidden meaning in what she said.  I  think that she ultamately prefers women as emotional companions due to her experiences with men as a captain and pirate.

I beleive that the comment was quite literally an illusion to the opinion commonly held by women-who-prefer-women that they are simply better at pleasing women than are men.

I think it was jsut a comment about how much she enjoys lesbian sex.
