just read about it on amazon and it has bonus material in it including concept art and behind the scenes stuff. Now I'm probably going to end up having to buy it!

Yeah, I've never purchased an official guide before, but I've already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition hardcover guide for Dragon Age. The main reason is that I'm totally geeking out over both the game and the world within it, and also because it actually seems like a worthwhile purchase that will prove useful at both the beginning and end of my time with the game.

Idk, doesnt that stuff come with the CE? I also dislike most game concept art these days myself, its always finished and on display rather than seeing the artists thought process.

But having a book right there is better than having to alt+tab, search the forums for 10-20mins, and then have a "I did it this way" answer.

I have not bought a game guide in 5 years... until this morning.

I love the behind the scenes story from AAA titles, having been behind the scenes on a smaller game release myself. Seeing what the devs think and what they were trying for vesus what the product is and the game mechanics within is an interesting story. Often, the drama is in how they do (or do not!) visibly match.

I just preordered mine on amazon using a gift certificate from a recent work meeting. :)

I won't be buying it.

If there is anything interesting I find about those guides, I'd just read them up in the offical/unofficial wiki.

The only other strategy guides I have are ones for "Myst" and "Final Fantasy VIII", so I haven't bought a guide in a long time.

Suddenly I found myself purchasing the CE guide for Dragon Age: Origins.
I have no idea why I suddenly decided I needed the guide for this game...

I haven't bought a guide in 10 + years but I'm alittle worried about allocating my skill & talent points. I don't want to gimp myself with poor talent choices. If Bioware can hurry up and finish posting information on the other specialization within each classes, it'll help me plan accordingly. Otherwise, I might be forced to buy a guide.

Must. NOT. Read. Before. First. Playthrough! :-)

Exact same boat. Not for 10 years have I bothered to get a guide but I may not get enough information on Gamefaqs and I want the guide for the skills and point allocation. I went ahead with the guide because I worry I'll end up crippling my characters.

I'm not going to buy it, at least not right away, because I know I'd never be able to resist the temptation to look over the walkthrough. I'm going to get through this game at least once with no outside help of any kind or die trying (well, I suspect my characters will be the ones doing most of the dying, but...).
