Has anyone else noticed that PS/DS with Varric doesn't work that often? I have upgraded PS with both the upgrades, but it almost never works. Same with the Disorienting effect of the shot. My warriors have no trouble causing Stagger. I don't understand why Disorient almost never works.

Doesn't your force stat need to be higher than the enemies fortitude stat? Can't remember, but don't you need to level up cunning to boost that?

My Varric has a higher CUN than DEX, and he has not disoriented a single time yet...and it sucks, because I upgraded Spirit Bolt specifically to take advantage of that.

I have never seen Disorient proc for Varric.

I think Disorient must be broken for Varric. According to the description, he should have an 80% chance of Pinning with Pinning Shot, and 100% chance of Disorienting if the target is Pinned. I have seen maybe 2 Disorients and I have been playing for about 10 hours (level 10 Varric).

I believe I've seen Varric disorient a couple of times.. but not very often.

I haven't seen him pin that many people but I didn't really boost his cunning much, so I assumed that was why.

I just got Sebastian and he pins constantly... maybe it's a Bianca thing?

HIs cunning is way higher than dex for me and he still doesn't get enemy disoriented often, I think it has something to do with the low proc chance of pinning. Fatiquing fog on the other hand, is absolutely insane.

It never works for me on my rogue either. In fact, I haven't seen any enemy disoriented EVER. Stagger and Brittle are so common, I can't believe Disorient is as rare as it is (especially for the amount of abilities that can take advantage of it. Devour, Spirit Bolt, etc.)

I think the DISORIENTED debuff just isn't as easy to see as the other debuffs.
The other part is how poor Pinning Shot actually is. 80% chance to pin a normal enemy. And then 100% chance to disorient pinned enemies. So you have a horrible chance of it actually doing anything when you need it. It would have been far more fair if it pinned 100% of the time and disoriented 100% also. Against ALL enemies. I mean really, Assassinate will kill almost all enemies in one shot but Pinning Shot doesn't even pin 100% of the time against the weakest enemies?
It's much easier to disorient with crits by using the Shadow tree.
