I am currently in the Elven Alienage on the quest to
investigate the occurrences there for the queen. When I get through the
apartments and back ally, arriving at the warehouse, once I try to enter I get
stuck on the loading screen. Although I have experienced the memory leak
issue, my load times have never reached a point where they go over a minute. I
have allowed it to load for over an hour multiple times with no luck. Everywhere else I go so far is fine;
I just can’t enter that warehouse. I am under the assumption I have
to go in there to continue the game, so it’s kind of a game breaker. Any help
would be awesome. I have downloaded the patch successfully. Here are my specs:

Model: Dimension DIME52

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual processor 3600+ 1.90 GHz

RAM: 2.00 GB

Windows Vista 32-bit Operating system

Video card: ATI Radeon X1300 pro 256MB

Thanks in advance for any assistance. :)

I've experience long load times as well, though mostly in the dwarven areas. Is the game freezing or does it just continue to say loading and not load?

You could download the toolset and trying editing the save. Though in doing so, it could cause more problems then it's worth. Before editing, back up the save by making two manual saves before entering, only edit one.

Don't ask me how to edit the files though. Till the toolset gets patched, and the game, I'm personally avoiding the toolset as a solution.

It says loading and just continues to load. Thanks for the idea Sel, but Ill avoid the tool set option and see if any other advice here may work. May have to wait for a patch fix though at this point.

Well Tom, you're definitely on the minimum end of the spectrum on both CPU and graphics card. Do you have the toolset installed? How about any non-official DLC mods (such as the camp chest or character mods)?

I do not have the tool set. I do have the dragon armor and shale but that is the only DLC I have. My specs are a little low, but this is strictly a gaming platform so most every thing OS side is turned way down and I do have to play DAO at about mid graphics level. I have WoW and both NWN games installed and that's about it. I have had no issues anywhere else in the game so I did wonder if something/someone I had on/with my character or done had/not done in game may affect that particular area causing the load issue i.e cut scene or something.

This may be related to the stuck on loading screen in Lothern when entering the Chantry / Bar. It will freeze at the loading screen, and when you tab out, you will see a crash message. Updating my video drivers fixed this issue.

Somehow.

This also decreased my load times from around 10 seconds to around 2.

Somehow.

Hmmm well all i gotta say is u gotta be really patient if its a long load. My specs are actually lower than yours but i can still load all right, Id suggest turning down graphics and textures to low to help speed up load times.

my specs:

OS: Windows 7 Professional 32 bit

CPU: 1.66Ghz Core Duo( not core 2 duo its the first gen lol)

Ram: 2gb ddr2

GPU: Mobility Radeon x1400 128mb

at lowest settings DA runs pretty smoothly. just be aware DA does have quite a few bugs where it freezes or no trigger events happen. if thats the case u just gotta keep trying to reload

I've tried everything I can on my end. To be honest, I have a hard time believing that this is an issue with my system considering that I have no issues anywhere else in the game, just with entering one room. :(

I have the same problem but in the town where you get shale. I'm pretty sure you have to go in the basement there to continue the quest but it just freezes on the loading screen. The loading screen actually looks different to normal though as it only has a loading sign in the bottom right corner of the screen. My specs are all fine and drivers are updated it just won't load that one area. (left it for over half an hour and it still didn't work.)

Well, at this point the game is broken for me and unplayable. I do not want to start over due to the time I have invested in the game nor do I really want to do so an encounter this issue again. So *GAME OVER* I guess. =/
