It's cool to see the extra content available as paid DLC but what do you guys who already have the mabari hound think of it? How does it work and on a scale of 1 to Awesome how does it rate?

It's one of the few things I would consider dropping money for but I can't find enough information about it to decide.

Thanks!

~Rainy

its entertaining somewhat, but not worth the money. The DLC so far has not added much to the game.

I have it nonetheless, and wouldn't see the game being any worse if I didn't have them.

why drop money u get it free with every new copy plus the black emp unless im reading you wrong.Only played first part of prologue into character create then up to meeting aveline and wesley and the mabari is there as a summon which is cool,so I guess as an extra hand why not.But unless you have a 2nd hand copy? then you should have it already.

about a 1 on dog now IMO. you summon it, it might attack something in battle but that's about it. No skills, no options. Out of battle it just stands there, you can run away and it stays put, no way is this hound nearly as awesome as the mabari in Origins

He will follow you. There're just certain maps he's stubborn about. He's pretty handy as a meatshield too. I've had three rogues ninja shank him and I thought "Oh god I love him". Don't know if it's worth it, but he adds a flavor to my living quarters I do enjoy. I could live without it, but if given the chance I wouldn't choose otherwise.

I probably couldn't end a day without going to my estate to interact with the puppy. A bit sad I never saw a Fenris interaction.

Especially since his nickname was "Danarius' little wolf".

I named my dog Cerberus. Their meeting seemed pretty fateful.

I really like the dog. He's handy in battle and he really annoys my uncle. The perfect combination.

did you not buy it new? If you bought it new there's already a code for the dog(he comes with the Black Emporium) inside your package

Stupid noob question: I have the dog, he's in my house and I can talk to him, but I can't add him to my party or anything. I see references to summoning him, how is that done?

It's in Hawke's abilities. Should be to the far bottom right of the ability screen.

Bought the signature edition digitally. Emailed EA, got a code for 2 items in game. No black emporium or dog however.

Don't know what to tell you. I pre ordered mine from GameStop and I got 1 code for all SE related bonuses and my CD key.

I like the dog... but he's just not the same mabari from Origins. If he interacted with the environment more, I probably would have liked him more.

The dog is more of a pet in DA2 which is what everyone wanted. Reason why is because not many people used the Dog beyond the initial encounter once people got Leliana and Sten. The dog usually sat at camp and did nothing.

In DA2 you summon the dog from the sustained spells section, though it doesn't cost any mana, the dog will go into battle and attack things and cause damage. The dog cannot be killed in battle, so it's effectively an extra party member without the problem of having it die and need to be revived. Only problem with the dog is that every time you enter a different map, be it in Kirkwall or some place outside of Kirkwall you have to re-summon him. I tend to forget that. I'd prefer it if once you summon the dog it stays summoned unless you go back to your estate which at that point in time you usually are separated from your party members and the dog is in your living room.

That said, if you got the game after launch you will have to buy the DLC. If you got the game on pre-order you get the dog as apart of the free DLC which comes with the SE version of the game. Standard doesn't get it.

I say it is worth it, but that's just me.

Sebastian is the only real important piece of DLC in the package. Everything else, sadly, isn't that great. Having dog is nice, but his damage is kind of pathetic. Lucky he doesn't get killed.

But I'm surprised Sebastian was even left out of the original game. His show down with Anders in the end made the decision even more difficult as to who you should side with, especially since Sebastian gives a pretty strong ultimatum that he will hunt down and attack Kirkwall once he takes up the throne. I was all like "OMG biatch puh-leeeeeeeeez. Throw me a bone. My boyfriend just blew up a chantry, my fellow mages are turning into massive balls of Legion flesh, I have to kill a mad ass templar and giant walking statues, and you are threatening me with armies you aren't sure you are gonna gather?! Go back home princey prince!"

Hrm... strange that they have the Black Emporium as a buy thing on xbox live if it's free with every copy of DA2 even after launch.

I too got 3 codes. One for the Prince, One for the Black Emporium, and one for the OST for the game. But that's because I pre-ordered the SE version of the 360 game.

I appreciate that Merrill complains about him after she starts staying at the mansion. He does have some tiny mini quests and is well integrated, so I say he's worth it.
