I hated the fact that it doesn't matter if you side with templers or mages the story at the end doesn't change that much. If you side with templers same thig happens if you side with mages.

**Spoiler** You know it overall was an okay game I feel the story was a little clunky and not as rich as the previous, but what really pissed me off is that ending of "He's gone just like the Warden." stuff thats just mean.... I wanna know what happened NOW! Lol.

In Laidlaw's last interview with Eurogamer, he did hint that there would be a lot more endings like that ie "......to be continued" (the 'yay, whet's next?' quote). Whilst I understand he wants to turn the franchise into some sort of soap opera, where you have to keep tuning in (ie buying more dlc/expansions/sequels) to know "what happens next", I personally prefer a game to be more or less rounded off as a standalone.

The odd companion "unsolved mystery" would be OK for one dlc. But main plots need a good conclusion IN ONE GO. I don't want to have to get Dragon Age 12 to find out what Morrigan's plan REALLY was back in Origins.

Meh, I ended the game twice for now, and I just can still think about 'what happens next?'. With DAO, there was something to 'wait', something that felt like if it was a bit 'concluded' with the epilogue. You knew a bit of what happened to each companion, what your Warden intended to...

But DA2 ending just made me look like O_O WHAT?! BUT WHAT NEXT?!

I just know I left mysteriously with Fenris. Then that everyone flew Kirkwall with me for a time... I want to know what comes next :( It really felt like a 'to be continued on a DLC in some monthes' >.>

And eventually, I'll be sure to buy this DLC... lol

What made me upset. I didn't expect it to end so abruptly. I was like, fine I killed the mage and templar. Let's go unto the next Act. Maybe one of finding Kirkwall a new leader, blah blah. And instead Bioware decides to end it on me.
I was pissed.

I have to agree, I thought Bioware was doing a in medias res way of telling the story, having varric tell half the story and then it continues with Hawke bursting in the door... or something.
Seeing the game just end was quite frankly lazy.

Exactly.

Ya know maybe, I was going to save Varric. Door bust open boom, story continues.

Actually I think I made the comment somewhere, that I hadn't seen the fleeing of Lothering and getting into Kirkwall an Act.

I saw it as the Prologue.

So, if you interpret it my way, the game only has 2 acts.

That's the ending? It's the same ending I hated in Awakening. Okay no point in playing this game to the end.

Arrrr, I finished it literally 5 minutes ago, and came straight to the forums to look up what the REAL ending was because I thought I must have missed something along the way.... Turns out, it was just a terrible ending :(

Mage vs Templar. Has been done to death. If they had another Gray Warden story would be better. There are Templar in Deus Ex, templar in assassins creed, give it up, so tired of the templars over used. from memory, they where even mention of them in gabriel knight games. I am a huge fan of both gabriel, deus, and the templars worked well in them. But in assassins creed, was just annoying, same with DA.

The lack of an ending was pretty disappointing imo.

Overall the game was decent, but didn't grab me enough to justify buying any DLC (looking forward to ME2 DLC and ME3 now).

What is it with the "And he disappeared... FOR NOW" endings? It worked well with Revan (and it may work well with Shepard, as I think he'll do the same thing), but I think they're trying to ride that a little. And Revan didn't have an arling or a city to run.

What kind of ruler just ups and leaves, despite his responsibilities? People would be furious if Goerge Washington just vanished after achieving so much, and everything he worked to build would just collapse.

Yeah, a "Cliffhanger" for what? By DA12 you have to replay DAO to see what it was all about first. It's a bit to weird for my liking.

I hope it's atleast an indication that we'll continue to follow Hawke. I REALLY like the character.

Hmm..it's a great game - as usual- but I agree that the ending felt a bit quick. After I completed DAO with the expansion and all of the DLC, I wanted my warden's story to be continued as well, with him returning from that mirror thing and teaming up with Hawke. Not to mention throughout the whole game I was playing my Hawke as a corrupt man doing anything for power...but try as I might I was never allowed the position of viscount...damn...

*This Post Might Contain Spoilers*

The ending sure is annoying at best, left me with impression "What, thats it? Both warden (dalish elf) and champion ( With Merrill ) gone?" Where the heck they just suddenly vanished at ( dont say they ran away together in woods to have secret tea party while holding hands together? ), as my warden was Alistairs advisor in court and champion ended up as ruler of Kirkwall, how they can just *poof* disappear without any trace?

And this is only speculation; Maybe Flemeth or Morrigan have something to do with the disappearances as i get the feeling both Warden and Champion are just pawns of their game, and what about grey wardens brief appearance in Kirkwall, saying that " theres more pressing matters at hand and they cannot tell us about it?"

At anycase i suspect either sequel with both Warden and Champion in it, not sure doing what where or when, unless bioware really decides to leave the end to be like that, and no, i dont think bioware really plans to make soap opera from the DA serie, its so unlike bioware'ish

My ending got bugged so I had isabella run off with me, even though Marril was the one I romanced :/

Honestly the end reminded me way to much of KOTOR2.

I thikn the most disappointing thing about the ending to me, other than the fact that no choices you made in the game matter, is that it's not the end. It's only year 7.

If you load your save you're told that to continue playing the game that Bioware has hyped for a year now as a "10 year span" you're told that to see the rest you have to purchase the DLC.

That is utter trash.
