Alright, I'm a mage who has elemental spells and healing. I've got Merril with me who has primal spells like lightning bolt, petrify, stonefist, tempest. Also along Aveline and Carver.
This is the first place I am REALLY stuck. Please help:
Fighting the mage Danzig in darktown trying to find that mage boy the templar is looking for. I just get surrounded and it's very hard to cut them down. Any suggestions or help?
Also, do the lesser enemies just keep coming til you kill Danzig? Or can I run away and just pick the little guys off one at a time then fight the mage alone. Is there any way to break that shell of his?

How 'bout you try the Spirit Healer spec? A passive +100 Health Regen coupled with a Force Mage's +100 Fortitude should make you unkillable.
At least, that's my plan

The second mage is what killed me over and over on hard... he spawns along with like 10 new warriors and it's just a raping.

Yeah this is crazy hard on nightmare. I just wish hard had friendly fire because that's what I'd be playing if it did.

Thanks man. What is the easiest companion recruitment quest. I have the dwarf and Merilla. What is easy (relatively speaking, we are on nightmare) that I can do, level and come back?

I dunno if it works about nightmare, but this is how I did it on hard:
Burst crap outta Danzig as the battle starts. He soon will be immune.
At this point, run upstairs and move a little back so archers cant hit
you from the botton. As mobs start popping out, use all characters to
attack them killing one by one. When either second mage or Danzig
becomes vulnerable, immidietly switch to them and burst as hard as
you can, then return to the mobs.
It worked beautifly for me, but my party is focused on AoE, so I unleash
the hell of frost and fire to anyone who dares to come on the stairs.
