I’m following the Duddleyville BGI walkthrough as my guide. At this time I’ve only made it to the Lighthouse which is about half way through the excursions prior to walking across the bridge. Also, I’m using scripts on the NPCs to kinda give them minds of their own and to make things a little less predictable. Every now and then you gotta direct ‘em all at a single foe – e.g. when a character is “held” and getting shellacked by evil dudes.
Having installed SOA and TOB patch as well as BG Tutu I am thoroughly enjoying the game b/c of the fixes it adds.
My PC this time is a LG Fighter w/Bastard Sword, Mace, Morning Star and Sword/Shield Style. Wanted the Flail/Morning Star ready b/c I'll be heading for the Flail of Ages Early in BGII.
The rest of the party is Imoen. Gotta check b/c I know in BGII she has dualed to a Mage so I wanna time that right in this game - again so it flows seamlessly. Using Ranged Weapon Script w/Short Bow and Gauntlets of Archery.
Jaheira. Same as Imoen, wanna make sure weapon skills etc line up going into BGII. She'll be "my woman" in BGII. Using Druid Defensive/Offensive Script.
Khalid: Cool thing about Khalid with the patches I've installed is he has 2-weapon style (3 notches) and Bastard Sword (2 notches). I've added gauntlets of Dexterity and the dude is a killing machine. Using Standard Attack Script so he's off and runnin' as soon as any "circles turn red."
Minsc is Minsc: Big, dumb, strong. 2-Handed Sword +1, Single/2-Weapon Style. Mace +1/Mace if he goes to 2WS. Using Spell caster Protect Script (Dynahier is his witch and also shields Jaheira)
Dynahier: Much better with the fixes than the original game. She can learn most spells. Using Mage Defensive Script so she puts a protection spell on herself and then start flinging offensive spells – or clears out.
Anyone have any thoughts to add?
