I was so moved by the ending, that my head is still wheeling. I played a mage, stumbled into an Anders romance, thought they were too happy, and then he confused me by psuedo breaking up with me, and Justice was STILL there after his little quest ... The ending. It took me by surprise. Everything suddenly made sense, and I suddenly realized what kind of radical I was attached to. It broke my heart. And that's ... amazing.
This is a video game! When's the last time you felt so angry or disgusted by the STORY? And not just "oh, this is bull****, whatever" and flip it off? When's the last time a video game made you cry? Not that I did but, I was rightly shaken, especially with Sebastian's reaction in the mix. It was so out of left field, and I love it.
Not only that, not only did it have the impact of a great book or movie, but it was completely dependent on ME. Everything I did mattered -- these were MY choices that were making me glaze over.
Am I getting too artsy fartsy right now? I meant to just say I liked the ending. I really, really like what you guys did, Bioware. You could have easily done another predictable fantasy ending, but you didn't. Not everyone loves a classic when it first comes out, so give it some time and you'll really see what people think.

You are not the only one, though I hope that future expansions/DLC's continue Hawke's story with his/her love interest in some shape or form. It left me wanting more.
Agreed. Not specifically the romance, but that wanting kills me. Want more character development and companion interaction.

just that it was not an ending for me
just 6 years and barely a month of the
story told, wich leaves around 4 years
just to Varrick's barebone tale.
if there must be / has to be an xp, I'd only go for
one wich is fully integrated into the oc
and continues the tale right after Leliana's
convo with Cassandra.
Not with another desaster like Awakening.

If you got the ending I got you will know why I think this. Leliana mentions that Hawke disappeared "Just like the Warden." I also still cant believe Anders is a physcopath who blew up the Chantry. I lost Sebastian sparing that bastard. It better have been the right thing to do.

I was friends with Isabela but wasn't involved with her (Probably the only person in Thedas who hadn't been.)
Thoughts?

I really hope there's more DLC's to really conclude the ending...that, or a really nice Expansion Pack.

Did anyone else in their ending hear Varric say, "We had to leave The Champion's side eventually, except Isabela."

For me it was Fenris. Romanced him though. You must've set some flag.

I know exactly how you feel. The story answered a lot of my questions. In the end I got up to where orsino and merideth were arguing and then I saw the chantry go boom and I scream with joy (not kidding and sort of akward when your in a dorm). Ive always been an Anders fan and when I saw that beautiful sight my mage dropped to his knees and cried with joy. Kind of like sebastian but I was happy...he was pissed. Even better Carver gave the templar commander the big FU and helped me out....I LOVED IT!!
****ING AWESOME ENDING BW!! Anders and I better be on the run from...uhh everyone in DA3

the whole shades fo grey thing throughout the entire story was great, everyone had good points, everyone was alittle to extremist in their goals. i liked how they didn't make one side the "good" side and the other the evil side. i went into the game thinking all pro-mage and i kept that ideal through the game, but damn did they make it hard to keep that up.

So the only way a companion would stay with Hawke is if they died. D'oh!
