I loved the ending. So sue me!

I was so moved by the ending, that my head is still wheeling. I played a mage, stumbled into an Anders romance, thought they were too happy, and then he confused me by psuedo breaking up with me, and Justice was STILL there after his little quest ... The ending. It took me by surprise. Everything suddenly made sense, and I suddenly realized what kind of radical I was attached to. It broke my heart. And that's ... amazing.
This is a video game! When's the last time you felt so angry or disgusted by the STORY? And not just "oh, this is bull****, whatever" and flip it off? When's the last time a video game made you cry? Not that I did but, I was rightly shaken, especially with Sebastian's reaction in the mix. It was so out of left field, and I love it.
Not only that, not only did it have the impact of a great book or movie, but it was completely dependent on ME. Everything I did mattered -- these were MY choices that were making me glaze over.
Am I getting too artsy fartsy right now? I meant to just say I liked the ending. I really, really like what you guys did, Bioware. You could have easily done another predictable fantasy ending, but you didn't. Not everyone loves a classic when it first comes out, so give it some time and you'll really see what people think.

Even if she was a blood mage... she was obviously cooperating with people who were opposed o Meredith. Templars even. And I said I agreed with her and that Meredith was a nutter and she went all crazy on me and killed Thrask.
What I didnt understand was why anyone bothered to kidnap Betheny in the first place. Like I said, I hadn't (intentionally?) sided with Meredith at that point, and was attempting to side with the mages after being neutral in the first confrontation of he act.
Do things play out the same if you full on support the mages during Mer and Orsino's initial verbal sparing?
I think Grace was someone who both A) felt oppressed by the Templars and the rest of society and
While Alain, at least, was someone who simply wanted to get away from the oppression of the Circle, Grace felt that any sort of fetters on the power of mages was too much. And in the years between Act One and Act Three, she had turned Hawke into the symbol of her oppression. Her bitterness had turned into hate and when Thrask seemed like he was about to stop her from killing Hawke, she killed him.
This is my opinion, of course. I didn't write those quests, though I did do the Cinematic Design on them, so I spent a lot of time with both Act of Mercy and Best Served Cold.

Actually Grace and Alain were captured shortly after you freed them and are in the Gallows during Act 2. When you bump into her, she's actually very hostile and bitter towards you.
I think Grace b*tched that "you sent us off with a 2 minute head start, no food or supplies, I hate you and want you to go away" or something to that degree.
Essentially. Grace was recaptured, even if you did your best to try and help her escape, and regardless of the truth of the situation - she blames you. Over the years, this blame has turned into outright hatred, and by the time Act Three rolls around, she sees you as a symbol of everything that is wrong with the world insofar as mages are concerned.

Seriously?
I guess I never picked her out from the crowd. How do you get caught when everyone chasing you is dead?
The simple answer is Meredith. Any apostate or blood mage is a challenge to her power and authority, and so even if it requires sending wave after wave of templars after them, she is going to catch them and bring them to what she sees as 'justice'. She's relentless.

The only thing I didn't enjoy about it was the comment about how "The Warden is missing as well. That can't be coincidence". Uhm... no, because my Warden died.
She didn't say the Warden was missing. She said the Warden was gone.
Not gone in the same way, perhaps, but similarly beyond their reach.
