I romanced isabella and merill. And I never had to "choose between them" I told isabella that we werent bringing emotions into it and that it was just for funa fter her romance scene. Later in the game I had merill living with me.

I did the same as the above poster. Be careful though. Because I romanced Isabela first, the ending 'bugged' and it said I was away with Isabela instead of Merril. Doing another playthrough so I can get a Merril ending. Hopefully. Now, Anders seems to think I like him for some damn reason. ;p

Yeah I got the same bug lol, at the ending cutscene when it says isabella was the only one who stuck around I was like WAT?

^^^ Same here. I flirted with Merrill in the beginning. Then it seemed like nothing was going to happen in that regard, so I started flirted with and sleeping with Isabela. Then later Merrill and I hooked up and she moved in, yet it said Isabela was with me at the end.

Yup. You can do that with Isabela and Zevran. Had Sebastian in the party when it happened, poor guy.

LOL I might have to save and do this just to find out.  I'm doing a Male Rogue right now and while I tend to do the straight playthrough with my males, I some times slide the other way with the rogues, just ot see the reactions.

I had the same question as the OP cause right now Mer is following me around like a love sick puppy.  Isabella I think I'm going to keep pissed off just enough to stay in the center.  Avel I actualy was trying to romance, but I'm doing the same as Isabella where I tend to ****** her off enough to keep her to nuetral on feelings (will want to romance her in my warrior play through though).   And Feneris and Anders seem to have like big crushes on me...it's the eyes I swear, every one falls for the.

I was actualy tempting to have my rogue go after Feneris and Merl on this play through.

Isn't Merril obsessed with studying magical relics though? TBH I can see her walking away for "research." Since action follows the champion (and a lot of coin...), Isabella probably just decided to follow around.

lol... of course not. This isn't Fable. Bioware is very strict in enforcing monogamy. I got some nasty surprises when Lair of the Shadow Broker was released. Not even 1 of my Shepards was able to continue with Liara... hell, I wouldn't have dated anybody else if I knew there was DLC coming! (grumbles)

Definitely!
Just go in the Rose, there's plenty of romance options there.

If you romance Isabella you can still make progress with Merril even if you don't choose any heart options for Merril. I think accepting Merril's offer changes her to your main romance over all others.

I did (I think).....Merrill and Isabella on my first playthrough (with female rogue Kristine Hawke). Isabella jumped in to bed with my Hawke, then Hawke asked Merrill to move in with her and then later Isabella sort of confronted her.
 
Hawke told her she loved only her and then Isabella asked Hawke to come away with her on her ship, Hawke asked what about Merrill and Isabella told Hawke to bring her along.

Merrill never confronted Hawke about Isabella and at the last chance to talk to your companions bit, she was still telling Hawke how much she loves her.......so my Hawke I assume sailed off into the sunset with Isabella, Merrill and a crew of strapping young sailors to keep her company.

Did you actually "romance" them...as in doing what is necessary to make an official romance thus getting the romance achievement or did you just sleep with one then the other. That is alway the confusing part when these topics start, what people actually are calling the romance.

I'm curious if you can actually "romance" not just sleep with, 2 characters in DA2 as you could in DAO. It seems to me from what i have read that once someone moves in, thus acheiving the romance, you cant break up and have someone else move in.

Anyone know if that is true?

I heard that Isabella never actually moves in, so if that is true can you romance Isabella, get the romance achievement, then break-up with her and get Merrill to move in?

So ... basically you chose Merrill. You didn't pursue a romance with Isabella or see her late-game romantic scenes, only Merrill's.

Thats kind of the way i see it. Thats why it appears you can have only real ":romance" except for possibly isabella then someone, which i suggested in an earlier post, but no one that has tried this has confirmed or denied yet.
