 Sad to say, I have a cartoon crush on her for a while and yet she seems totally uninterested in my main. In fact, she's now dragging me along, asking me to help her woe one of her guards. I admit, I haven't always made the greatest choices when she's been around -- she doesn't really get the whole "mage" thing (not to mention the whole underworld scene sorta goes against being Captain of the guards) -- although I always flirt when given the chance and I've moved up quite a bit in a world...what gives?

Yes, it is seemingly possible to romance Aveline as a either gender, so sayeth the Strat Guide. When I did her quest, I was availed the 'Heart' dialogue option to start it with her, and I am playing as female Hawke Rogue.

You cannot romance Aveline. You can flirt with her, but nothing will come of it.

Can I at least sabotage her attempts to hook up with the Rico Suave guard? If I can't have the wench, no one can!

Awww, Donnic is nice! And does she ever actually respond to Hawke's flirting? I kept doing it because it was cracking me up, especially her lack of acknowledgement.

I can't tell how she likes it, but I'm pretty sure she just hooked up with the guard while I was standing outside her door. So much for sabotaging their little affair. If it's not possible, regardless of selections, then so be it I suppose.

Err, not sure if we were reading the same guide, but Aveline isn't romancable at all. You can just flirt with her(and she doesn't even acknowledge that methinks) and that's all. Same with Varrick.

Still, Hawke would be a better soulmate for her than Rico Suave as said by the OP(I am liking that name btw:D).

She asked me if I ever thought about her as more than a friend and I said "yes, but it'd be destructive". I lost 5 friend points, although it doesn't seem like it is going anywhere anyway. I've flirted with her in almost every circumstance possible, so I'm thinking it's not possible until I hear definitively otherwise.

Seriously though, in this it says "While all other potential love interests happily swing the other way..."
It can be inferred that this is in respect to all known and officially 'dubbed' LI's by Bioware.
