I'm not entirely sure they'd bring back the Warden (as awesome as that sounds). Nevermind what happened in people's DA:O imports, one of the default options is that the Warden dies. If they were going to retcon what happened to the Warden so they could put him DA3,I don't think they've would've given you a selectable backstory in which he dies.

Simple fix, those whose Warden died making the Ultimate Sacrifice can play as the Orlesian Warden from Awakenings in Dragon Age III.

Makes sense right..

I think that if the warden dies in DA:O then you should assume that when people say something he/she couldn't have done (as a result of deadness) they are actually talking about Generic McWarden Commander from Awakening.

True. I don't think the Warden Commander could be as important a character as the Hero Of Ferelden.

Actually.......if the Warden Commander forged an alliance with The Architect in "Awakenings"....... OMG BIOWARE MY BRAIN IS A PRETZEL! Dragon Age 3: Mages,Templars,The Chantry, and Talking Darkspawns.

As much as I would like to see my Grey Warden return in DA:III its not gonna happen. DA:III will have a new protagonist. Also their disappearances probably have something to do with Flemeth. It seems anybody who has some kind of connection with Flemeth disappears. First King Maric said to have been lost at sea maybe it was something more, then came the wardens disappearance, and now Hawke disappears. I'm not saying Flemeth did this I'm just saying it has something to do with Flemeth

They're not bringing back the Warden and Flemeth was never really dead. She knew the warden was going to kill her( if you choose to) Remeber at the beginning when she tells Hawke she has an appointment. She's talking about her fight with the Warden. Flemeth is not what she appears to be always remember that. Also what makes you think Hawke and the Warden are coming back. We'll probably have a new main character in DA:III

Cassandra is looking for Hawke at the end of the game Cassandra says that hawke disappeared just like the Warden. So unless she's talking about the Wardens corpse disappearing this means that the warden is back  from dead/portal and has gone missing.

I'm guessing she and the other templars are looking for the two most powerfull people in Thedas, meaning both Hawke and the Warden.

Dragon Age III: Rise Of The Body Snatchers.

More like.

I would love to see my warden return, but I really doubt its going to happen. Bioware doesn't seem to have the budget (so maybe no one can) to continue on stories with multiple paths if DA:II is any indication.

The ending of Dragon Age II clearly shows that our Warden has more fighting yet to do and that the Champion's fight is just beginning.

If Morrigan is coming back in DA3 then maybe our warden will be back but from what Alistair said about Orlais wanting to reclaim Ferelden we might be playing a Orlesian character and attacking the country we once saved on our Warden but who knows maybe we will play a Qunari :D

I think the warden crossed franchises and is hanging with Revan. Why does bioware feel the need to send heroes away at the end of their games?

Didn't the Leiliana romance option say that she found a way to bring the Warden back from the dead?

In either case, who's to say Cassandra and Leiliana weren't talking about the Warden's corpse, as dark as that is and all...

Ugh, I want my Warden back. Even after playing DA2 and becomming the Champion, more then ever I want my Warden to return, lol. Where did she go?!! What's her companions gonna do about it?! Esp her LI and husband King Alistair! What's going on with Orlais?! Assassination attempts? Was Zevran involved? Screw the champion and her insanely depressing life where everyone dies or betrays her, I. Want. The. WARDEN.

The only ending for the Warden that makes sense is the one where the male warden goes into the mirror with Morrigan and therefore disappears. Are they trying to say that's the cannon ending? If so, lame. :(

I agree.  I felt so much awesomer as the warden.  And having things turn out well if you worked at it was a lot of fun.  And then you could screw it up in your second play through on purpose.  DA:2 made you feel like .... I dunno more like real life where fate screws you over.  Real life sucks that's why I've been playing a video game...

According to the epilogues in Awakening, the Warden always disappears mysteriously, regardless of who they are and what they've done.

Are we even sure that when they mentioned the Warden they were talking about our Warden? Up until then our Grey Warden was mentioned as The Hero of Ferelden. And if they were talking about the Awakenings Warden they often referred to her as The Warden Commander. Why not at the end say Hawke has disappeared like the Hero of Ferelden?

Now it probably is our Warden who disappeared. Personally I don't want my Warden in any more games. I am looking forward to a DA:III, but I don't want my Warden voiced over. I have a specific voice in my head that belongs to her and a personality. I like voiced over games, ME and DAII, but Shepard and Hawke has specific personalities from the start. Bringing back the Warden, then giving her/him a specific voice and personality, then if she/he isn't the main character is only going to really get the Bioware fans on a rampage. We just loves our Warden.

So I would rather not have my Warden in another game. I would rather play as Hawke because I don't want to find out my Warden isn't how I imagined her to be when playing Origins.

I guess it could be plausible the Warden makes a return, though I think it'd be more likely as a third-party than a PC role. We'll probably have a new protagonist. Though, that's not to say having the Warden return as a PC is impossible.

Now, I know that it's easier said than done--and most of the stuff is probably impossible--but I have some ideas to transition the Warden, if they choose to bring him back:

Game could use your Warden's surname to reference him (like how Merrill calls the Warden Mahariel, if you import a Dalish Warden save), or simply 'Warden', in a similar fashion as Justice. Named for what he is, because the person before the Warden 'died' in the Joining. Assuming they continue with the voiced protagonist--as I'm sure they will--they could hire small-namers in the VA field, instead of focusing on filling their roster with television stars and what not that command bigger payrolls. I'd dig hearing my Dalish Warden with an Irish or Welsh accent. As for transcribing his/her appearance into the game, wouldn't it be plausible to provide a basic body and have the player reconstruct their Warden's face with the new head-morph system? Just an idea.

As for Ultimate Sacrificers... I have no idea how they'd work around that. Probably some terrible blood-mage experiment gone wrong, some ritual, or a magical device in the Deep Roads that brought the Warden back from beyond the Fade. Wouldn't be the first time something was hand-waved.

Either way, I'm hoping for the Warden's return to the series. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Most likely, the most presence our Wardens will have in future games is as hearsay and ambient busy-talk--and the occasional passing remark by characters.
