I guess it could be plausible the Warden makes a return, though I think it'd be more likely as a third-party than a PC role. We'll probably have a new protagonist. Though, that's not to say having the Warden return as a PC is impossible.
Now, I know that it's easier said than done--and most of the stuff is probably impossible--but I have some ideas to transition the Warden, if they choose to bring him back:
Game could use your Warden's surname to reference him (like how Merrill calls the Warden Mahariel, if you import a Dalish Warden save), or simply 'Warden', in a similar fashion as Justice. Named for what he is, because the person before the Warden 'died' in the Joining. Assuming they continue with the voiced protagonist--as I'm sure they will--they could hire small-namers in the VA field, instead of focusing on filling their roster with television stars and what not that command bigger payrolls. I'd dig hearing my Dalish Warden with an Irish or Welsh accent. As for transcribing his/her appearance into the game, wouldn't it be plausible to provide a basic body and have the player reconstruct their Warden's face with the new head-morph system? Just an idea.
As for Ultimate Sacrificers... I have no idea how they'd work around that. Probably some terrible blood-mage experiment gone wrong, some ritual, or a magical device in the Deep Roads that brought the Warden back from beyond the Fade. Wouldn't be the first time something was hand-waved.
Either way, I'm hoping for the Warden's return to the series. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Most likely, the most presence our Wardens will have in future games is as hearsay and ambient busy-talk--and the occasional passing remark by characters.
