Ho-ho, more warbling from the nihilists. This thread has more smug in it than a Greenpeace rally.

Love the game, definitely better than DA:O.

Do you even know what a nihilist is?
I'm failing to comprehend your poorly constructed analogy here. Help me out.

Given a reasonable return policy.. yeah, I'd return it. As it is, without serious patches and improvements I'll be thinking hard about dropping it at a Gamestop for store credit in a week or so.

The only thing I regret about this game is the fact that I'm losing my social life.

Again...

The game is great. I'll play it a few times. I don't want my money back. My only criticism is the reuse of areas for side quests, reduction of game play hours, and inability of campanion armor changes (though finding items for upgrades made a great challenge. So -1 +1 there) all in all excellent game. Don't listen to these whiners bioware, but keep in mind that EA is posion, try to keep your own image, not adopt theirs.

I only want about $20 back. The games worth $40.

That is what i figured it to be worth so I cancelled my pre order and figured i would wait until the game was closer to 30 dollars in value, so i will wait until it is closer to if not less than 30 dollars. Bioware you want to "streamline" the fun out of the game then i will have to "streamline" the money out of the original price.

How exactly are people placing any of the blame for this game on EA? Did EA come in and force them to make the changes they did? Doubtful and there is no proof that they did. EA published Dead Space 2 and i found that to be incredibly enjoyable. People complain year after year that Madden and Final Fantasy are just the same game every time and when people get a game thats different they get all offended. Bioware can't please everyone and they shouldn't try. They gave you every chance to see what the game would be like with the demo. To those of you who ordered before they heard anything about the game then the old caveat of buyer beware applies here as it does with all purchases. Bioware makes the games they want to make and thats the way it should be if you want to make a game the way you want to then go ahead and try. To the original point no I do not want a refund, any game that gets me to pull 2 all nighters and still want to play it more is a good game in my book.

Is this thread based on the game itself, or the overall product?

hell to the no. I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

Bioware's only mistake was calling it Dragon Age 2, cause it's not a sequel to DAO really, it's just the start of another series in the DA universe. Calling it a sequel is why people have their panties in a bunch because it's not Origins.

Yes.

I probably won't play it again until a few patches come out for it and by then...I could probably get it alot cheaper than $60. So yeah, if I could I would get a refund but we all know the game industry enjoys a no return policy (especially where PC games are concerned) so if they can sell you on the hype then you're stuck with a lemon.

I would expect that most people with a red  ][  under their avatar did the research long before, and were fine with all the "streamlining". Only a minority would have bought it 'just to have a voice', or because they bought it blind, thinking that this would be Origins-quality.

In any case, it's not an awful "refund NOW!!" -type game, it's just mediocre mainstream dross, that's "good for what it is". So even if I never knew who BioWare was, and I stumbled onto DA2, I doubt I would be running back to my retailer now demanding my money back.

I personally wish, that I had waited till this game was worth thirty dollars...maybe not even thirty...more like twenty.
As much as I enjoyed playing the game. I felt it wasn't worth the sixty I shelled out for it.

Maybe instead of getting my money back, can I get half of it back?

So I'm the kind of person who's inbetween. I so surely want to love this. And yet it failed short of my love.

I am enjoying the game quite a lot. But I dislike the re-used maps. Just because they start you in a different location once you load into an area, doesn't make it any less obvious that you had just been there like 10 mins prior.

I'd have to say DA:O is better.. it had a more epic feel to it and varied terrain and so on.

I'm happy with my purchase. But the game does have its pitfalls.

I know this is a BioWare forum.. but I am so looking forward to Skyrim.
