So, maybe this is just the fangirl in me, but I was pretty tickled by the many personal references to the Warden in DA2--direct references from strategic choices that impacted the new story aside. From what I'm hearing on the board, it sounds like players who chose the non-noble path may be getting less lipservice than those of us who became rulers in some capacity. I got my character crowned queen and thought the references (especialy during Alistair's brief cameo) were funny and appropriate. I hear perhaps those who romanced other characters have been left a little disapppointed.
But the Warden did get a codex and it appears as though the DA:O epilougue is tied in with the end of DA2 and setting the stage for a greater explanation in a--fingers crossed!--DA3?
Thoughts? :P

I wouldn't be so sure of that Wowlock, as if you remember, King C and their Queen were in communique about reaffirming foreign policy ties and mutual benefits before his death at Ostagar.

I was a bit dissapointed Leliana didn't say more about the Warden. In fact I'm not even sure if it acknwoledged that she was in a 'mance with him at all, or at least it was very vague on the subject. I think the only thing she said was something like "Yes, I knew the him, but I haven't seen him in many years." kinda solemnly. I might wanna check the codex for the Warden... I didn't even notice he/she got one, hopefully it says something.

Nah she says the warden " was very dear to my heart" if you romanced her but that's about it.

My chancellor-mage romanced and is still with Alistair, who is king, but there's no specific mention of that (which made me sad face a bit, Alistair's water retention problem aside).

I'm looking forward to finding out what the Warden might be up to. In my happiest daydream, there's a DLC where you can play as Hawke, and as the Warden, in separate playthroughs, to tie in with DA3.

I was a Dalish warden, and Merrill & the rest of the tribe gave quite a lovely amount of attention to her.

I'm not sure about the other paths, but I imagine Human Noble & Dalish gain the most references.

Dalish would certainly have the most references I'd imagine, I had thought I'd see more references with my human mage, best I got so far was with Cullen who mentioned he knew an Amell once and went on to say how he left the circle then came back to save everyone. I figured if the Warden was the second cousin to Hawke people would mention it more.

Where did Cullen say that? I must have missed it, I had a fem Amell for Origins and a mage Hawke for this one. Do want.

One thing I found that bugged me was
Teagen mentioning to Allistar the hero of ferelden should be back in
Denerimn by now. As my mage left through the portal to be with Morrigan
and his son. What did he come back from Beyond the Fade or does the game just fail to recognize the end of witch hunt.

Some time after returning from the deep roads, I simply walked up and talked to Cullen at the gallows.

Thanks for that! I will definitely do it on this playthrough.

I asked this too and Bioware's Luke Barrett said there are no plot flags that carry over from Golems or Witch Hunt.
Although given Cassandra's line to ******* at the end of the game, they're obviosuly setting something up for DA3.

I experienced same thing with Leliana's Cameo. I romanced Leliana at the end of the game both epilogue from Awakening and Origins. But I when I saw her in DA2 Cameo ( in the DLC part of the game ) she says '' she didn't see him in years '' while the wiki says she should say something like '' dear to my heart '' when romanced... I wonder if it's the fault of the Exiled Prince DLC or my save at the end of the Witch hunt. Since she makes her cameo only in DLC until the end of the game , I assume it should be a DLC issue but in other saves I saw she recognized them well.

I really hate to start over just to correct mistake... or am I the only one having this issue ? I hope they can fix it though.

Yes, I have to say, although the timeline is a little confusing (I know Witch Hunt was supposed to take place about a year or two after Origins, but the WH NPCs spoke as if it had been many years and Morrigan referred to a "child" and not a "baby"), maybe it makes sense? Maybe Witch Hunt is supposed to be taking place around the same time as Act 3 and the Hero was on that quest while Alistair went to Kirkwall? Just because Teagan says the Hero SHOULD be in Denerim, doesn't mean he/she will be there when they get back! Or maybe just wishful thinking on my part.
At any rate, I am pretty thrilled with the role Leliana has been given--makes so much sense for her character and sets her up to be a big player in a DA3 scenario. Maybe it will make sense when we know where all of Thedas' heroes are going!

As I've said in another topic my Leliana cameo in Sebastian's quest is bugged so I'm bummed about that. I don't really recall my imported CE Warden getting any special mention so far aside from the codex entry where it says she was saved from the Alienage by Duncan and such. I never thought I'd say this but it kind of makes me want to play a Dalish in DAO to bring into 2 (I did not like the Dalish in DAO at all, but love them in DA2. Go figure :P)

From what I've heard not only is WH being ignored but it's effecting romance flags.

Looking at the setting the Origins referenced the most are the Dalish and Human Noble. Human noble tends to get even more attention if they were female and married Alistair.

I did get a reference to my main DA:O playthrough which was with the Dalish elf (which was not provided by the Dalish clan) that made me chuckle.

My Dalish elf Mahariel romanced Alistair, hardened him, and stayed on as his mistress. When I spoke to the bartender at the Hanged Man and asked about rumors he said something like "I hear the King has an elven mistress. Hope the Queen doesn't find out." Or something like that. I was so happy ^_^ My elf hated Anora, but made Alistair marry her anyway because my poor elf seemed to understand human politics better than he did. lol

Definitely been my experience. Sad that Leliana, for example, mentions that the Hero makes a "fine queen" for Alistair in her brief appearence, but gives only a vague reference if you romanced her. It was exciting for me (it's good to be the queen, lol!), but for those who rom'ed Lels and Zev, that seems like a huge let-down.

Still, I was happy to see them bring so many familiar faces back! I suppose they could have written it in a way that didn't bring so many old friends back into the new storyline...I was pleasantly suprised to see some showing up during the end fight, as well (I got Zev and Nate respectively during different playthroughs). The templar that runs out to inspect the Meredith statue is also clearly female, so I can't help but hopefully wonder if that's Leliana keeping an eye on things again on the DL...? ^_^

LOL! I hadn't heard that one yet. That might be one of the funniest ones I've heard so far. Thanks for the share.

Well, my fAmell got some mentions from mother and your uncle, Anders and from Cullen, and Cameo Alistair said "You remember me of someone I once knew" with sad puppy voice, because she died killing the archdemon. Until that, everything was okay..but Leliana... "..just like the Warden" Well, what do you expect from a dead mage? Of course she's gone!

If you imported a mage Warden, Bethany will say that she wish she grew up in the Circle so she could be like their relative.
