Hi
Whenever I start Dragon Age II, after I logged in, I get the common windows message:
"There is no disc in the drive A:" - Cancel / Try Again / Continue
Obviously Continue is the option that gets rid of it, but I have to alt-tab to the desktop and then bring back up the game for it to work.
Please fix this, because this is utterly annoying. It shouldn't check for anything at drive A: or B: (and nowhere else to be exact, because as far as I know the DRM states "no disc is needed after installing").
OS is Windows 7 64 Bit
And yes, I kept my floppy drive on purpose.
Dragon Age II is looking for a disc in my floppy drive :(

This issue is linked to your BIOS had the same problem myself, disable the floppy in your BIOS and this will stop happening.

Or alternatively you can go into device manager, open the "Floppy disk drives" button and right click the "Floppy disk drive" option you get, and select disable. This is what worked for me. Either way works I think.

This issue is not necessarily linked to the BIOS.
In many cases, people do not have floppy drives, and incorrectly have their BIOS set to indicate that there is a floppy drive. In those cases, you are correct. It's a BIOS issue, and the floppy should be disabled.
However, the OP actually has a floppy drive and wants to keep using it. In this case, it is NOT a BIOS issue. The game is incorrectly trying to access the perfectly valid, empty, floppy drive, and is incorrectly complaining that there is no disk in the drive. The game should not do this. I don't know why it is attempting to access the A: drive (I see no reason that it should), but if it does, it shouldn't complain by popping up a dialog box. It should silently fail whatever check it is doing, since it's perfectly reasonable for people to have floppy drives with no disk in them.
For the OP: Until this bug is resolved (BioWare has said in another thread that they are aware of the issue and are working on it), there are three known work-arounds:
1) Disable the drive in the BIOS. This will prevent you from using your floppy drive until you reboot and re-enable it via the BIOS.
2) Disable the drive via Hardware Manager in Windows. This will prevent you from using your floppy drive until you re-enable it via Windows, or reboot.
3) Insert a blank floppy disk in your drive. This will allow you to continue using your floppy drive, and will prevent the game from complaining about the empty drive.
Hopefully BioWare will have this issue resolved. But any of those three workarounds should work for now.

Alright thanks guys, I'll take option 3.
Don't wanna hurt Mr. Floppyo's feelings by disabling him!
And yeah, Bioware should be fixing this in a future patch.
