Well I don't know about you but I like my RPG games with R and P in them. You may feel that hardcore rpg games have gone away, but the people who play them have not. When you're a company that sells mainly to that crowd, taking the R and P out of rpg's and masquerading this new "streamlined" version as a roleplaying game isn't going to work. Perhaps initially it might, but not in the long run. You do realize how Bioware became Bioware and who got them there don't you? EA would never have been interested in them had it not been for their reputation and track record with it's fanbase. Take that away and what's left?  Certainly not the fans.  When you're used to quality, it's very hard to except anything else.

typical response. I think bioware is making a smart move taking out heavy Rpg gameplay making it more action and combined with epic story and rpg elements to the story/character It appeals to a broader crowd and makes for a better game experience. Making it a genre of its own.

Looks like people are not falling for Biowares Call of Dragon Age

It's number 2 and 4 for PC.  The PC sales are no slouch.  The console users aren't ecstatic about it (and I don't really blame them given the demo and lack of auto-attack).  PC's doing great, relatively.

So maybe Bioware will see the games only sell well on PC and will stop trying t osell to consoles as well please yes thank you?

I'm not pissed off. Why would I be? If you are enjoying this game, I'm very happy for you. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and people don't always agree. BUT, what's happening in this particular case is very obvious and transparent. Streamlining is fast becoming a buzzword for STAY AWAY in certain circles. If Bioware isn't careful, that's exactly what people will do. If you like the game, fantastic. I would never attack anyone or question a person's taste simply because they are not my own. If you were a company trying to sell my a product however, that's an entirely different situation! A person shouldn't go into an rpg game expecting an action game or a shooter and vice/versa.  A hybrid is a slippery slope. May or may not work. I think it worked for ME2...although I slammed doors and through fits over the "streamlining."  ( I REALLY HATE THAT WORD!!!)  The game still had a story, characters, etc. This game just feels very empty to me. But that's my opinion.

Console rednecks  like you who have no buisness playing CRPG's made this possible.

It all depends really, this strategy could be a long-term failure if some of their more loyal fans go elsewhere due to the changes. Catering to more of a cross-genre group also means you are competing with other games which, when the gamers must make a decision, might pick their own favorite series over the new hybrid Bioware is trying to push. Such things make pushing away old fans a bad prospect, because you don't carry any loyalty on the new fans. Only time will tell of course. It will only be by year's end that anyone will tell how well the game might sell in total.

Small update.

DA2 has fallen to rank 33 in the Amazon game sales.
The Xbox version of the game is selling worse than the PC exclusive Shogun 2 which is not released yet.
On Steam, which so far has been a bastion of hope for the DA2 lovers, DA2 fell from Rank1 to Rank 4 behind Homefront and 2x Shogun 2 (different versions).

So, what it's flopping?

Can you even judge sales from amazon bestsellers?

The Xbox is totally kicking right now and people still play Halo online with their friends...oh wait.

You're gonna need to buy the remake.

I think it's too early to tell how well DA2 will sell. It hasn't even been out for a week.

You can't see the total sales on Amazon, but you can see customer behaviour.
And that behaviour says that after initial good sales (preorders) people are buying other games over DA2.
Generally speaking such a fast fall in the sale ranks is unusual for AAA titles. Especially as DA2 is supposed to me "more open" and should attract a larget target audience.

And to all those people who say PC gaming is dead/doesn't matter. I really want to hear that explanation why heavy strategy on the PC sells better than DA2 on the XBox.

Maybe. But as you said. Its not even a week and DA2 is falling like a rock.
