yes you did ramble and you really need to learn how to compose an idea in something that is short and concise

and all these people who claim DA2 is a "failure" really have no sales figures, you keep refering to amazon, but i look at top 10 sellers on all systems, and dragonage 2 is in each of them

i also remember specifically 400,000 preorders prior to release, stated by developers

:(

The Brits get a facebook campaign together to put Rage Against The Machine in the Christmas Number 1 spot, just to oust Simon Cowell from his regular lame Christmas Number 1, and then they rush out in droves and buy the gaming equivalent? :/

Still not in amazon top movers and shakers.

http://www.amazon.co...kers/videogames

Best selling on amazon:

http://www.amazon.co...ers/videogames/

XBox is at 32, PC at 82, no other version listed.

AAA title?  Doesn't look like it.

the one saving grace is that (I think) this game didnt have a ton of money thrown at it. You can really see it with all the short cuts.

SO, EA was smart, because they saw the game was coming along poolry, and would need a ton of money to make it what Bioware envisioned it.
instead, EA recouped their losses, made Bioware put out an unfinished product... but now, they dont need the game to sell at AAA levels, to make a bit of a profit.:police:

That's not a saving grace.  It gives EA an excuse to keep making subpar games.

Because of their cost cutting ways, I'm sure they'll turn a profit.  Hopefully they'll be so shamed by this sludge of a game they'll turn to making excellent games.

How well a game sells is no indication of how good it is. If Big Mommas House can rake in millions, then you know civilization is doomed and we'll buy anything if it's marketed correctly

If EA was truly under the belief that single player rpg games were a relic, why did they purchase Bioware....a company known foremost for making.......single player rpg games?

They bought them for the built in customer base, their IP, and their reputation. It happens all the time, for good or ill, in the industry.

EA has a long and unvaried history of buying talented developing companies and running  them into the ground.  Incredible and depressing how many good companies and franchises EA has ruined.

Sadly, oh so sadly, it looks like Bioware will join the long list of them.

Flunkorg, no, unfortunately that is the only major retailer we can reference in the U.S. at the moment. It is, however, a good barometer. Other retailers, in all likelihood, won't differ much.

picking amazon is a silly thing to do , who orders a game from amazon? , certainly not someone who wants it guaranteed on release date.  was number one on steam .

I disagree, but if you only wanna use 1 retailer to determine how much a game has sold in total. Then go ahead.

Who cares if it's selling well? Arx Fatalis never sold well because it wasn't advertised but it was a better game than that garbage you lot call The Elder Scrolls and even beat Morrowind for GOTY in the year it was released.

Although I agree uisng Amazon as a sole source for sales info is not useful, this bolded part is %100 incorrect. I ordered mine from Amazon, and I got it on release date with no shipping charge.

It's doing very well over here, as far as I can tell. (I'm in Austria) Reviews are good, most are enjoying it. Good. And my advice to those who did not like it and behave like crusaders: Move on to something you like. Play DAO, give 5 gifts to Alistair and he'll luff ya. And sludge through the uniquely brown DR for hours, fighting mob after mob. And get the bugged Epilogue cards....those are fun. Or play BG2 where the romances are SO cliché, it makes Danielle Steel look like a stellar author.
