Truth be told, I think the user reviews are legit on metacritic but most of the reviewers are just overreacting from the transition from DAO to DAII. To me, DAO is a truly epic game filled with incredible details at every corner. DAII is overall a lot more simple or streamlined, which brings me to my next point.

If DAII is compared to DAO, I think it deserves a 3/10. If DAII is a brand new IP and is rated as a standalone game, I will easily give it a 7/10.

Yes because user reviews matter *sigh*. Most of those reviews came from the same people making new accounts and continuously spamming negative reviews.

BS, just look at this forum alone! People are simply not happy with it express that by giving the game extremely bad ratings in the hope that it damages game sales and thus gets the developer to may re-think the new "improved" game design. It is a sad truth that money is all that count anymore and thus only actions that may cost them money have any chance of changing something.

Well, thousands of people are not so easily bought as reviewers are.

Lot's of truth in this statement.

but completely dismissing negative feed back is pointless you just have to accept a lot of people dont like this game for what ever reason.

There's a difference between negative feedback and feet stomping, though.

User scores are worthless.

So...A paid review is more worth than tousands of users? Those scores seems pretty accurate to me and I have bought and played all BioWare games in the list (seems to be all of them).

Edit:
Who can give above 9+ out of 10 for this game? I'm shocked.

Not if the game is bad enough.

The game as a standalone would be PERFECT. Yet the users clearly feel robbed when playing DA2 expecting the vast expended experience they got with the first part. I share their resentment unfortunately.

I must be a troll for some people. My review is up there, and I gave it a 4 which is deserved. I gave DAO a 9, and DA:A a 7.5(bugs made me angerly). I'm harsh, I know what I like in my games. DA2 is consolized, with special attention being paid to the ADD kiddies who get upset because there's too much conversation.

Customers that felt ripped off because they thought they had pre-ordered a classic crpg? Many people to not visit forums and game news sites regularly. They played the first game, liked it, and pre-ordered the second because they thought it would be similar, which it is not.

And people that feel ripped off usually retaliate in one way or another.

They could of cancelled their pre-orders after they got a taste of the demo. Personall I enjoyed the game, I enjoyed DA:O too, but DA:O was strung out in a lot of places, which made the game tedious. Only thing I didn't like about DA2, was that there wasn't as much dialogue as in DA:O.

Also lets face it, most of these people are upset over the little things, flashy combat, no armor for companions, lack of race selection. Overall I found the game to be great, I found myself pausing and issueing orders more so in DA2 then DA:O, so it's not simple hack n slash as some like to think. Well whatever, the game could use improvements, like more dialogue though, be more story enriched.

Well, what can I say ? If you get a crap, you will rate it like a crap.

Dragon Age: Origins was a very good game. I like it and I have play it 2 times already (good mage and evil rogue).

Dragon Age II was avarage game. It was made very fast just to make money for EA (what BioWare says). F*** players, they were so stupid to make pre-order. Anyway, some parts (except graphic, animation, skills, sound, locations, monsters, monsters spawning from air and few other stuff) were good. Good that i canceled pre-order and get game for about 1/3 it's price from disappointed friend. It would be nice game if their could change title from Dragon Age 2 to something else...
It's like bad movie from good book. You just make crap for money that is based on good title, that should sell itself.

Anyway, players are mad and their are right. Bioware should talk to EA and tell them - STAY OUT!. EA should provide money and set normal deadline. Bioware should do what they can best. Right now EA got money from pre-order, players are mad and Bioware have probably first crap in their history.

DA:O wasn't that great... Also looking at some of the people who made these reviews, i've noticed some made more then one review. Most of the complaints are about graphics too... Not like DA:O's graphics were anything special. Only thing I can say about DA:O was it had better dialogue, the story in DA:O was meh... The theme has been done to death, while DA2 offers us something different from the rest of Bioware stories.

I'm very happy to see all the hate. Maybe bioware will think twice next time before releasing garbage.

I can understand the feeling of satisfaction that your opinion is right, but to be happy that something you don't like is failing is a little much, don't you think? What if it sold well? Would you feel insulted?

@Bryy_Miller, sorry but it sold not bad because of the pre-orders. I made it first day i could and wait until now. If there were no demo, I wouldn't cancel my pre-order. Loot of people don't play that demo or was thinking that loot of things is blocked and monsters spawn from air just because it's fast-made demo.
Game is bad. Not because it's inferior to Dragon Age: Origins in every way. It's because everything is bad. Interface from Commandos 3: Destination Berlin, animation from Devil May Cry, that spawning from air monsters are probably game bug, graphic is bad, location are repeatable, monsters eat a bomb before they spawn from air (on simple glance of small dagger and they EXPLODE!), dialogs are bad, skills are bad and only good thing about DA II is the story. 5, meaby 6/10 for this game if good score. 7 if you overlook DA:O.

Tell me then please, what I'm missing ?

I'd rate it an 8, but story is important to me, and DAII has a great story, imo.

That's about where the professional reviewers are coming in, too.

But the more I do the fighting, the less I like it, especially the mid air spawning.
