With origins it would have been gross with Ohgren but Varric Is an awesome character.
Although I suspect he may be deeply in love with his crossbow.

Yeah, I don't think Bianca would like that very much, lol. Dwarven relationships would be nice though

I agree, but for some, it seems to be, a LITTLE, in demand and SHORT-coming

I think it's because Mr. Gaider is strongly against the dwarf-lovin.

It would have been gross with Oghren because he's a slobbery drunk ass. It would have been barf no matter his race in my opinion. I never romanced Alistair seriously because I just don't DO innocent pretty. Point being it's really about personality. Varric had/has a huge following since he was first announced and we new a paragraph about him. C'mon Bioware give us our dwarfmance!

I think they don't want to have to do the kissy animations. But if you can pull off a turian romance, BioWare, you can pull off a dwarf. :P I wants me some Varric.

I agree about Oghren. He is just plain broken. Anyone with any sense would avoid romancing him, especially in Awakening. But Varic brings the segsy and Sigrun is pure bottled awesomesauce. A romance with either of those would be lovely.

Because Oghren was just leaving Branka and needed to have time and you can't be in a relationship with Varric because if you had been, he would've known where Hawke was when Cassandra interrogated him.

Wow, threadomancy. You must be really bored, guardian. The topic is still topical though. Oghren grossed me out severely, but if he weren't already so involved with Bianca, I'd totally romance Varric. He's completely awesome and the chest hair....Maker! The CHEST HAIR...!!

Plus, if he had known where Hawke was (and he may, considering he knows a LOT), Varric lies...A LOT. I think he'd shut up if he knew where Hawke was and felt Cassandra posed a threat to his friend, or if he knew what Hawke was up to when he/she disappeared and didn't want to be followed.

Sigrun!

Though she needs longer hair imo. I never liked her hairstyle in Awakening.

Also, Xanthos Aeducan's chest hair is just as awesome as Varric's.

I forgot about Sigrun.  She was totally adorable Image IPBand my warden would have romanced her (though I'd have to be dragged away from Nathaniel if he had been an option).

Mardy was already a dwarven romance option.

I really hope she returns as a companion later on, with longer hair. I think Sigrun would look great with long hair and with the changes Bioware wanted to make to Dwarven women.

Eh... I wouldn't call Mardy a romance option. She's pretty much just a one-time affair. That's like saying the Dwarven prostitutes are romance options.

The question is dealing more with romances like that of Alistair, Morrigan, Merrill, and the other LI companions.

I wouldn't have chosen Varrick for LI anyway. Always sticking his nose into other peoples business.

You get a kid with her, thats more romance than you get with any other character since Aerie. B)

May be Varric and Hawke did have a romance but he's hardly likely to admit it to Cassandra since she's right there and looking for Hawke. I think even she might have been able to put two and two together in that case. Since the story is told by Varric, he can make alterations to suit his purpose. People often ask what Hawke is doing during those 3 year gaps. Well...................

I think the reason for no dwarf romance is that still, the writers set up romances for companions generally-regarded as "attractive" in society. Tall, skinny, good build, pretty, young, fun-loving, etc. Stereotypically, dwarves are considered brutish, crude, short, fat and older, comedic relief. e.g., look at LOTR movie. But we can look beyond dwarves. Consider NWN2. Why isn't Sand or Bishop or Grobnar or Jerro or Khelgar romanceable for women? The most "obvious" choice is the knight-in-shining-armor Casavir. Some of the others could easily have been the one LI without altering the plot. Casavir is the obvious pick.

Come DA and it's getting better (at least there are multiple and gay and bi choices). However, who is still not the standard type for romancing? Manly women - Aveline, short people - dwarves, stoic barbarian - Sten, older women - Wynne). I would've liked to have seen Aveline and Varric as romance options. Aveline of course has her Donnic storyline, but why not Varric? No, they chose pretty-boys Fenris and Anders, and ****ty Isabela and cutesy Merrill.

I liked Sigrun but I doubt she will ever be back as a major character since there is a good chance she did not survive DA:A. I was sad that she turned on the Warden when I was playing. Varric seems to be pining for Dwarven girls quite a bit in DA2 and I think he and Sigrun would make a cute couple.

I would not mind Dwarves being available for LIs but each game only had four LIs in the party. If that formula stays I imagine that the game makers will continue to use humans and elves as the LIs because they are easier to make "hawt" for the most players. Perhaps a Dwarf could be the Sebastian-style LI for DA3.

Eh Bioware would probably ignore her death as being permanent and explain it away, just as they did Oghren's and Leliana's.

And I have to agree on him and Sigrun being an awesome couple.

I'd pay for that.

No question I would have romance Sigrun if I had the chance. I've been complaining about this since DA2 came out.

Play DAO as a dwarf. Romance away. Problem solved.
