I would not mind Dwarves being available for LIs but each game only had four LIs in the party. If that formula stays I imagine that the game makers will continue to use humans and elves as the LIs because they are easier to make "hawt" for the most players. Perhaps a Dwarf could be the Sebastian-style LI for DA3.

OR Make a hot dwarf.  Actually, I tried that in DA:O; not possible.  Those guys are just fugly!

They guys are not that attractive in the usual human way, no. A female dwarf can definitely look cute though.

Animation issues.

Honestly. Animation issues. Dwarf/nondwarf love scenes are a giant pain in the ass to put together. The characters don't bend right because the skeletons aren't sophisticated enough (not enough joints in the spine, particularly), and the size differences are too extreme to easily repurpose the human animations. I mean, also, they're not conventionally attractive, and fall into that same "what? who would want that character as a love interest?" category as, like, Wynne, but if I'm a game designer with a limited amount of time and resources, the animation issues are definitely going to make me hesitate to commit to a Sigrun romance.

It's possible to make a cute female.  Dagna was more adorable than a box of puppies. Image IPB Someone told me my dwarven noble resembled Abigail Breslin.  I wasn't going for that look but when i looked her up online I saw yea, she did resemble the actress.  Sigrun is also cute, though admittedly some of that could be her perky personality.

Movie star hawt though...no I don't think dwarves fit that quality, but they definitely can make up for it with personality.  If Varric were romanceable I'd romance him.

Xanthos Aeducan -- my avatar -- takes offense to that. Image IPB

He's a good-looking dwarf methinks.

Thorin would staunchly disagree, challenge you to a proving, disembowel you, then go comfort your wife or daughters. He is more liberal than most dwarves thanks to his time on the surface, but he won't let anything threaten his personal honor. And any slight against his race deserves a proving...popcorn for the audience?

Great. Now you got a bunch of possible Dwarf lovin' animations and motion captured positions stuck in my head. Now how tall is Sigrun/Varric to Warden/Hawke again...?

:o :pinched:    =] ^_^ :) :P :D :o  ^_^ :bandit:
