If the upgrades actually changed their costumes, or if you could break down all that gear that you can't use to upgrade their armor that would be cool too.

It's just weird that they would streamline only 3 parts of equipment for the other members, while you still have to equip them weapons, amulets, belts, and rings. Either make them not customizable at all or have them fully customizable. This game's identity crisis is frustrating at times.

Im mostly upset about the fact that, being a mage, I cant even SEE the rogue or warrior armor Im getting.. I got the blood dragon armor and was like, cool I'll just make a mage and let a warrior equip that. Nope, ALL of the cool armor I will get later in the game I wont even be able to set eyes on... Kind of stupid if you ask me

Limit, simplify, justify.

Limit, reduce, simplify, justify.

Limit, reduce, simplify, impose, justify

Limit, reduce, simplify, impose, demanding money to give fans dlc clothing, justify.

No, definitely, Bioware took the wrong path above it. And none of what you say doesn't make me change my mind, because there's nothing interesting to read.

Say, yes let character dress itself, does nothing to cons-scale impoverishment and simplification of the game was done.

It would not be so annoying if not for Bioware rubbing it in our faces by giving so dang many armor loot drops that we can not use. It drops at the same rate it did in DAO it seem's.

One of the few things I hate about DA2. The weird thing is that while you can't equip armor you still have to remember to equip better weapons, accessories, etc. I would rather have full companion customization or none at all but for me, taking a middle ground in this doesn't work.

i quite like it. makes your companions actually look distinct from each other. otherwise all highend warriors look like highend warriors - at least this way carver will always look different to aveline and the lyrium guy.

Bioware really screwed the pooch on this one.  I wont be buying their next game unless they shape up and quit bowing to the will of their corporate masters.  Far as im concerned this whole game was a sham.  One city?  The same dungeon over and over with just a different door unlocked?  Only 7 party members to choose from?  And we CANT CHANGE THEIR FRIGIN ARMOR!  Seems to be that they just rushed the game so much they figured they could cut corners and nobody would notice.  I DID!  They claim its for simplicity but its just laziness.

Thanks bioware.  I've completely lost faith in you.  I guess Bethesda will be getting my money from now on.   Seriously bioware.  Neverwinter Nights was one of the best games I ever played.  Then you put out this ****e.

I love how ridiculous you people are. You can upgrade their armor with runes and armor upgrades. The only thing that doesn't change is there appearance, and lets be honest... In DA:O there was no variety in equipment, 2 types of leather armor, 4 types of plate armor, 3 types of robes... Overall you ended up having a silly looking party. Seriously, how many of you left Morrigans robes untouched because she would look ridiculous in anything else?

If you aren't happy with their appearances just wait till they release the modding tools or whatever, and people will mod your companions like they did in DA:O.

What?

My team in DA:O looked liked members of an army.

The team in DA2 looks like they're going to an anime cosplay convention.

I have a rather stupid question about armor upgrades. When you purchase the item does it automatically upgrade their armor?

Is there any locations list for companion armor upgrades? I was able to get just a couple of them, until now (75% ACT One).

Alright then, let's just get everyone completely naked, without even undergarments, and then we'll die to the blight at the first slash.

EVERYONE will get what you want... customization to the max, and death.

Hmmm I liked the customisation in DA:O better. The only two characters that were ever dressed the same with me were Leliana and Zevran. Go for the distinct sets!

They could at least make te appearance change a little when you opgrade (so Carver look like he did in the intro when he's fully upgraded). Now he just looks like a farmer who likes to carry around an oversized sword. Dumbing down the rpg elements is an extremely poor choice. I also hate the fact that you can no longer equip two weapon sets to a character (or make a dual wielding warrior backed with some arching skills like my dalish warden).

I do like the improved combat system for regular attacks though. Looks a lot better. Playing a mage is a lot more fun now because of it.

I like it because it allows each companion to have a different "body type". Having different armor models along with different body types for each companion would take a lot of resources. That being said, a nice compromise would be to keep the various upgrades and what not that we have now, but also have a handful of companion specific armors that changed their appearance.

I tried to equip armor to carver that i didn't need from the DLC when i realized that it said only for (insert_name_here) hawke so i thought maybe the DLC is just for hawke i picked up some regular armor and tried to equp it then realized all armor you pick up except for the companion armor is only for your hawke. is this a bad or good move in my opinion i just liked the ability to give my companion any armor i didn't want but didn't want to sell or sit in the inventory until i wanted it again. so what do you guys think about this choiceImage IPB

I think that's one of the funnest part of RPG game isn't it?  getting items you don't want to your companions so you can experiment with different builds... I know that's one of the best thing I like about DA:O, trying unconventional build with gear set to support it... I know that's what I like from my previous rpg games... don't know what EA thinking... though I'm definitely waiting for reviews the next game bioware release... my faith for bioware churning out top tier RPGs has been broken :P

Biggest thing I hate about the game is the companion armor. That and the limited ability system is epic fail. I love the game though.

Well they can give you that limitation on the PS3 and XBox but on my computer where it can handle it, its craptastic.
