So last night I turned my volume down a little bit since it was late and I didn't want to wake anyone around the house (my headphones make a lot of external noise when volume is up, am using headphones) but today I just got home and went to play and everything is SUPER quiet. I turned all the volume back up to max and it didn't get any louder, I've tried relaunching the game and restarting steam, restarting PC, changing it back down and back up again and nothing makes it any louder.
I can't hear anything in-game since it's stuck so quiet. How do I fix this?
Audio problem

Hi, sorry you're having this problem, I am looking into it right now and wanted to get a few more details, it would be a great help in getting this fixed for you if you could answer the following:
1. What OS are you running?
2. Did you turn down sound in game or from the windows mixer?
3. How are your headphones connected? Through your amp or directly plugged in to the sound card?
4. Is it just the game that is quiet or is all sound now quiet?
Cheers,
C.

Sorry to ask this but..
Have you double checked your windows volume control panel?

That happened to me in the demo, but in the actual game I had no sound problems. The only difference between the two is I added this:
http://enbdev.com/download_en.htm
Goto that link, download the "Patch v11 for Silent Hill Homecoming". Put d3d9.dll, enbseries.ini and the two shader text files into the Dragon Age 2 demo's bin_ship folder (*install path*/Dragon Age 2 Demo/bin_ship) and put the vars_pc file into the data folder (*install path*/Dragon Age 2 Demo/data).
- Fix from Shensi
It fixed seemed to fix all my audio and video problems. (Don't worry if the install paths say demo, it's still the same folder in DA2, except without the word demo). So you can try that and see if it works.

Dude, you're my god, this totally helped every piece of trouble I've had with the game sound (echoing, low and/or too loud levels etc). Now it's perfect.
Thanks alot!

Could you post your system specs? The driver mod you have posted is intended to enhance shader and visual performance but it should have no impact on audio as the sound engine doesn't touch the gpu on the pc.

Maybe that's the problem. I run the game in Windows XP on Macbook Pro via bootcamp.

Check to see if your computer is stuck on Earphone mode.

I'm having a dialogue issue that essentially breaks the game. I'm getting no cut-scene dialogue sound what so ever. All the other sound effects are present, including music. But no dialogue audio. Can anyone PLEASE help me? I bought this game at 59.99 on Steam and it's honestly rendered unplayable due to this issue.
