So is it just your LI that gets the alternate outfit once you finish his/her last personal quest? I feel like I'm very near to the end of the game and so far, Anders (who is my LI) is the only one sporting new and definitely improved threads.

Edit: Actually, I just noticed that Isabella's sporting something new too, but it's not as noticeable, maybe that's the case with the rest of the companions...

I think it's just the LI. Only Merril's outfit changed for me in my first playthrough.

NO its not just the LI, and least in my game it wasnt. The only person i romanced was Isabella, and othes gear changed to. Of course now i think i about it i did flirt at some point with those other people.

BIOWARE we need a confirmation.

I think (read: im not sure) it has to do with getting them there armor upgrades or should i say getting all there upgrades.

No I think they change depending on friend/rivalry levels. Anders is now sporting a black coat for me, and I think Fenris has some bronze in his suit...but that may have just been the light. I don't think Varric's changes but it is his story so that makes sense.

I really like Merrill's new suit of armour, it really stands out in the heat of the battle.

When you get the friendship/rivalry power I thick it changes. Anders and Merrill changed in my playthrough

I only noticed Anders' outfit change and I hadn't romanced him. I did however have hot hatesex with Fenris and he didn't get anything cuter throughout.

I found new armor for Sebastian, I put my money on the possible upgrades you can get for the companions.

for me anders has new armor, its dark and awesome looking he is also 100 like for me (no romance though) but he also has all the armor upgrades, no one else has all there armor upgrades and i think only isabella is 100 like for me as well but she looks the same i think

Only Anders and Merrill for me, and I know I didn't have all the upgrades.

Anders and Isabela were the only ones with outfit changes for me and they didn't have full armour upgrades at that point of the game. All of my companions had 100% friendship or rivalry towards the end of the game and it was only those two whose outfits were different.

Anders' outfit changed immediately after I finished his Justice quest and I can't remember when Isabela's outfit changed.

I only got Anders outfit to change. I was romancing Isabella but missed her armor upgrade during "catch the thief" not sure why her outfit didn't change.

For some reason Isabela's new outfit only shows up when you give her a respec potion from the Emporium.

Just as well. I prefer her regular outfit.
