You get the gloves as a reward for completing Demands of the Qun quest, which is the finale of Act 2. So you receive them in Act 3 after Merediths and Orisino's bickering in the beginning.

Yeah his left bicep is freaking huge in that armor, but I'm ok with it because the armor looks great anyway.

if you do the bone pit quest in act 2 (which im assuming is your first year, cuz im a noob and i don't know) does that mean you cant get the armor in act three(when you live in the mansion?) please clarify. thanks.

Act I is before the Deep Roads Expedition, when you're living with Gamlen, Act II is when you move into the mansion and Act III is the final section of the game (also in the mansion).

Each time you finish an act, any remaining unfinished side quests are automatically abandoned and you can no longer complete them, then you get new quests in the next act, so the Act I quest and the Act III quest in the Bone Pit are different and must be completed in the act they appear in. So completing the Act I quest doesn't stop you from doing the Act III quest (in fact it's probably necessary to even receive the Act III quest).

For the Act III bone pit quest, if you've completed the the previous bone pit quests in Act I & II, Hubert will give it to you, otherwise simply head to the bone pits to get the quest.
