Game was fine until Act 3, then the bugs came. Hawke slow motion, quests not activating, stuck in locations...

I have an Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 (old I know but still runs in high detail) and had the infinate loading and saving issue through the steam version of the PC game. By reverting my Nvidia drivers back to version 258.96 all my problems disappeared.
Good luck.

Hey guys, Um I think people with multi-core processors not working properly may have something to do with the OS.
If you have windows xp 32 bit, (or something similar) you wont be able to use more than one CPU, may have nothing to do with game. just check it out, (Window key and Pause key same time)
find out what you're running, look it up to see if it supports processors.
Hope this saves you guys some time, Wishing the Bioware team every blessing I can imagine
~Peregrin~
I have Vista 64 and Dragon age II seems to be mostly using one core.
about
core 0:10% 1:10% 2:10% 3:99%
The game lags like a single core game. Fallout 3 NV did this and need for speed carbon did it.

Still, and I think I speak for all of us, if someone Bioware would from time to time, say daily or even twice a day, could post approximate state of completing/how advanced the works are and at least probable release date, it would be very comforting.

First - I know and understand that creating a patch is complicated process that requires some deep understanding of how game works and searching lines upon lines of code to find what's wrong. And as such it's either hard or impossible to accurately predict when it will be done.

I would be happy enough with "This week" or "This month" actually. But whatever, i'll just pretend the game isn't released yet I guess.

What was the purpose of unlocking the game at march 8? So we, who preordered the game, could be beta testers for retail?

Wow, that's bitter.
What's worse, I understand what you feel very well.
I'm rather disappointed - after waiting so long for the game it has quite a lot of bugs and some of them rather serious.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dragon Age 2 was made by some lesser studio, but Bioware always (well, almost always) delivered a quality products.
If the game was bad in other aspects I'd put up with bugs but it's good game. Just evidently rushed.

I don't say it is bad, I gave it highest score on the gaming site I visit.
But quest bugs in act 3 and unusable directx11(that is fixed now thanks to nvidia) at release just frustrated me somewhat greatly.

If Hawke moves slow, download DAO saveeditior, open your last save game, then edit ID 42 aka Animation_Speed_Modifier(in my case it was -25,5),set it to zero.Ad save.Everything will work just fine)

DA2 is unplayable for me on Steam because there's STILL no patch fixing the saving loop for single core machines. It's pathetic that a beta patch can come out that claims to fix a specific Steam issue...But the patch isn't usuable on Steam!
Ouch,that got to hurt.Sorry.
