Hey guys, I am still unable to properly install the beta patch.
It still says that there was an error in opening the dragonage2.exe file in the bin_ship folder.
Help please?!

Have you tried fully uninstalling the game then reinstalling it? Long way 'round I know but it seems that you've tried everything else.

download patch on not desktop -first
or use universal extractor
this programm is free
and copy in game dirrectory files dragon age 2 exe and da2gdf.dll

@manic: I did, but after your prompt I uninstalled and reinstalled it again, thought what the heck. Guess what? The bloody installation failed. Fml. Attempting again. Thanks though.

I was able to install, the disk drive error is gone, but now none of the menu items are clickable, meaning I can't play it all.

Well, good to see that there is a patch for the game so soon. Unfortunately it doesn't fix any bug I'm encounting (temp. freezing, especially in dialogues). I hope this annoying issue will be fixed ASAP as well.

Friday was the first day the EA help support team had even heard of the problem and Beta Patch ... would have saved me 3 days and switching to 4 computers and returning the game twice. Live and learn ... but am glad that a full patch will be available next week. Thanks

Patch fixed my i7 having hard drive issue, and having the save issue.

Where's the patch that allows me to play for more than 15 minutes at a time? That's the one I'm excited for! Hurry up and fix this game. I'm running out of snarky comments and I'm about to get to flat out mean ones, likely resulting in an EA delivered ban that doesn't allow me to leave my bedroom 'cept to eat, use the restroom and shower.

Thank you very much, Evil Chris. (I chuckled when I saw your name in the credits, btw, haha.) Now there's no more weird error messages asking for non-existent drives.

I know this isn't the appropriate thread, but I'd just like to say Dragon Age II is incredible. In my opinion, it's the best game I've ever played. It better win some awards. As PC Gamer has said, "The best RPG of this decade? Nine more years will tell, but for now, yes." =D

I am having the same problem. For me, it is related to camhappybunny's issue...

Without the patch, I get the aborted Release Date Check (Click "Accept", goes to 100%, closes without allowing activation). Any further attempts to launch result in nothing happening. Plus, after it crashes, I am not able to bring up the release date checker to try again unless I REINSTALL THE DAMN GAME OVER AGAIN.

Tried to install the patch on my steam version of the game, and it wont install because it is the steam version. How can a patch that fixes a steam issue not work with the steam version? Fortunately this is not my problem but the non existent drive one. Hopefully we can get a working patch soon.

Please read the info, steam users will have to wait for the non-beta version to be released before we can patch the game.
