got to be Varric for me, i wasnt really expecting to much out of him before the game and yet hes gone on to be probably my favorite take on a dwarf in forever.

what say the rest of you.

I'm with Varric too, he's got a good heart, you'll find that out by the party banter, he keeps an eye out for the other members. Varric is just a real good friend.

Anders. I usually prefer the less serious characters, but I've really gotten into the freedom fighting. He compliments that.

I respect people who fight for what they believe in.

Im sure many people will say Isabela cos she is almost like a piratier, slu*tier, verson of morrigan..haha which is why i like her. my second would havto be either varric or anders. varric because he is witty and funny, and anders because he is a nice/good person, yet he has a "darker" side to him..

Merrill, because she makes me laugh all the time. She's right on the border of too cute, but she stays on the right side.

Varric as well, great friend, always takes care of people. And funny.

Other than that, oddly, don't much care for the rest of them, except Bethany. I was devastated when a certain something happened to her.

Got to be Varric, he's been great. Merril's been alternating between cute and irritating, but definitely has her moments. I hate Anders in this game, I find Aveline annoying at times and intriguing at others. Fenris has moments, mostly when he interacts with Isabella and Varric; he's generally pretty cool, and he really shines through when he's on the rage-ohol. Isabella is great. Bethany has moments.

It's good times, really. Not quite the ensemble from DAO, but Varric is almost awesome enough to single-handedly carry the game, and Isabella not far behind. I thought the behind-the-scenes stuff with Gamlen and Hawke's mom tended to be pretty cool as well, which helped a lot, too. Actually, the Viscount was kind of an interesting character, as was the Arishok. A lot of the game characters were pretty compelling, I mean even Cullen has some moments, and that really helped overcome what was mostly a 2.5-person cast (IMHO, of course).

Good stuff as the net result, though. Varric is hysterical. Him as the wholly-unreliable narrator is one of the more awesome things I've seen in any video game, especially because he's so 100% unrepentant about it with Cassandra.

Shockingly Varric. He's hilarious but also has a caring side about his friends. When I first saw him I thought "Oh great. Another drunk dwarf like Ohgren", but after playing the actual game I see that he's completely different from him. Ohgren was the main reason I didn't really like dwarfs in Origins but Varric completely changed my opinion on them.

Second would have to be Merrill. She's so akward and adorable. Not to mention I'm a huge fan of Torchwood and her voice actor is Eve Myles who is an actress on the show.

my party always was Varric, merrill, Carver untill he whent templar on me. than i put anders in as my healer but never realy cared for him. personality wise Varric and Merrill are my faves Merrill was my Hawks Love.

Varric. Varric is 100% man (dwarf). I'm not a terrible fan of many of the companions, but Varric is the main exception. Isabela is hilarious because it takes so little to bed her (I find it rather absurd, actually), and Merrill can be funny at times but overall, meh. That's all I can say. Aside from Varric, no one is really as memorable as anyone from Origins, like Sten, Alistair, Leliana, and the like.

Varric is pretty much the only character I actually like. Merrill would be fine if it wasn't for the fact that shes a lunatic.

Varric and I are bros. He's never left my party since I got him. Bethany and my F!Hawke are really tight. I respect Aveline, but at times I find her hardheaded. But her personal request was...interesting. Sebastian and Anders I'm constantly torn between giving them a good smack and hugging them. Honestly, I understand circumstances changed him, but I miss the old Anders. Isabela, Fenris, and Merrill, are just there...I personally have no interest in them.

favorite party member would have to be either merrill because shes just so... "sheltered" is a good word LoL or Varric because hes, well hes Varric LoL. My favorite character in the games though is Sandal, hands down! I LOVE walking into an area and seeing a pile of dead darkspawn, including an Ogre frozen in midair, and little Sandal standing there "'Ello!" LoL
