Meh, Isabella is just a flinty, leathery wh*re, IMO.

Which is more or less what Bioware was going for, so again, me reacting this way to her just shows the level of writing.

Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess, but some of us likes flinty, leathery ****s.

Haven't gotten Isabella as a party member yet, so this far, it's definitely Varric. Everyone else is rather dull compared to Origins' colourful cast. On the other hand, my Benedict Hawke is just effin' awesome, unlike my generic, boring Warden.

Varric because he is laidback, charming and friendly. Nice sense of humor but also knows when it's time to take things seriously.

Fenris had no choice but to be dead sexy, considering his VA also voiced Balthier in FF12. That's like almost too much sexy. Personality wise, I like him way more than I thought I would--I figured he'd just be stereotypical brooding mancandy who wandered in out of a JRPG but his moments of deadpan humor are pretty great, and I love his banters with Isabela and Varric. Definitely love when he's on the rage-ahol too. I started the game fully intending on romancing Isabela because she was my favorite NPC from Origins and was pretty much the only reason I bought DA2, but Fenris just makes me want to hug him, give him cocoa and teach him the love of a woman after I teach him how to read. Now I'm just torn, and complaining about polyamory not being an option...again. Stupid Bioware and their stupid enforced monogamy.

Otherwise I am not thrilled with the cast, in Origins I loved everyone but aside from Isabela and Varric (who are made from 100% awesome) I can't take any of the rest. My LadyHawke is snarky so Aveline and Carver were like the fun police, I can't stand either one of them and hated that I was stuck with Aveline just because she's the only tank (and my Hawke's a mage). Even their banters are boring. Carver just made me constantly want to punch him in the face, to the point where if I ever play again I won't roll a mage, just so that whiny man**** dies. I just got to Act 2 and made him a Grey Warden since I figured he'd suffer more that way. Sebastian is annoying and needs to get laid, Anders turned into a self-righteous ****** who just isn't the same without his cat, and I haven't really been around Merrill long enough to judge her since I haven't used her at all, being a mage. The idea of romancing her creeps me right out, though.

Merrill, that banter with Sebastian is hilarious, ''it's a nice story, but I think it's got some holes'' lol.
I'm romancing Fenris though, and I pretty much like all the party members.

Isabela, Varric, and Bethany in that order. Isabela's humor with everyone had me laughing almost too much. I hope we get DLC to continue adventures with them. Have to say I like these companions more overall then the ones in Origins.

Have to agree about Fenris being Edward Cullen's elf cousin and for that reason he sits on the sidelines.

Varric and Merrill, if they talk with different partymembers something funny happens, i love it when Varric calls Merrill, Daisy.

I'd have to say Varric because everything he says ever is made of win.

I want to say Anders (really want to) but I can't. I loved him in Awakenings but I had a very love hate relationship with him in DA2. I understood his character change, and didn't begrudge him that, but there were certain times (and then there were CERTAIN HORRIBLE TIMES) when I wanted to shake him horribly and shout, "WHY!" I am still of the opinion that all would have been well if I'd been allowed to get him a new cat. That being said, my Lady Hawke could not- for some reason- ever resist him. Even when I wanted to hate him, even when I was pissed at him, and even though he is hardly nothing like my usual type, I still ended up with him in the end.

Pretty much everyone else falls into the same group as Anders. That being, I wanted to like them but then they would do things to drive me insane. Merrill, for instance, had hilarious party banter but I wanted to scream at her on every side quest she had. Isabella was also funny for banter but then she left and I didn't even care that she was gone.

I gotta say Fenris is probably the best party member. I mean his background story is so amazing. Where is he from? Is he Dalish? Then he has those lyrium laced tattoos (which are awesome cause they're white, like his mystereous hair. Plus he's just a badass... HE GLOWS BLUE!!

I just wish he was a two-handed weapon wielder, I think it looks weird for an elf to have such a massive weapon. I think they look best with either a bow or daggers. I think LOTR is why I think this haha.

Isabela, Varric and Bethany. Their banter is hilarious, and very enjoyable. also, i don't understand why people think that it is "ridiculously easy" to romance Isabela, with her it took some effort, with merill it took 2 or three dialogs, that's it. however, one of the best lines of banter was with isabela and anders (who i dislike). "Isabela: Anders, Have you ever been to the pearl in ferelden? Anders: yes, why? Isabela: I think i remember, were you the mage with that electricity trick? Anders: lets not talk about that." nearly died laughing.Isabela and Varric are pure win.

I really don't understand all the hate for Fenris and Anders... They both have interesting back stories and are not boring. Fenris is my favorite though, because he is so... human. Meaning, he reacts more or less like a real person would (well, most characters do) but he also loses his temper and shows his naive side sometimes. He's a really deep character once you get to know him.

Anders... I felt terrible for Anders. The poor guy is basically an abomination now and as the story progresses it's harder for him to keep control. I rather miss his snarky version but I still like him a lot as well.

And of course Varric. He is just hilarious.

Varric definitely has the most flavorful personality, but Merrill comes in at a close second merely because of her wackiness.

Varric comes first. Everything he says is pure gold.

And Merrill's tendency to overstate the obvious makes her a personal favorite as well. Good thing I romanced her.

For me it has to be Varric and Anders. Which is no surprise.

Varric because... he's Varric. I don't have to say more than that, do I? I mean everything he says is just great. I seriously think he's the most diverse and intriguing character in the game.

Anders because of his changes throughout the story. Though I really wanted to be pissed at him toward the end I couldn't make Hawke do it just because I still love him to death. It's just sad to see how tortured he became. But that's what made him so great in the game.

The rest of them... I don't particularly care for. I have to admit I love the companions in Origins a lot more, for all of them managed to hit a soft spot in me (and so the moments where we see some of their faces again were like... my favorite moments in DA2, sadly). Still, the companions in this game had their charms nevertheless.

Fenris was my favorite. I had some doubts about him going in because I was afraid he was going to be some emo, sulky type, but I found him very interesting and incredibly mature with how he handled things, revenge aside. He's a very thoughtful character. Even though he's obviously biased against mages, he gave clear reasons of why that was. He was good at arguing his point in an intelligent manner. And I loved the parts where he sort of acts as your 'qunari guide' with the Arishok. I also like the little reveals of his hidden fun side, like when you find out he plays weekly card games with Donnic and Varric.

Varric and Merrill are almost tied with Fenris, though. Loved them both. Varric for obvious reasons, he's hilarious, loyal, and an awesome guy. Merrill broke my heart, she was so adorable and naive and it came back to bite her. I just hope the events from Act III didn't break her spirit.
