sorry if this has already ben asked but in this game, while in stealth and you go behind an enemy and attack them does it do extra "backstab" damage? (not the backstab skill). and if not what is the point in going stealth in this game since there are no traps or anything like the first? If somone could post there stealth manuevers and tactics i would appreciate it. thanks.

Stealth is a lot like a panic button in this game. Hit it and everyone attacking you leaves you alone and goes to find someone else to kill. I personally won't ever use it though.
There are traps in this game though, by the way

There are talents that address this in Subterfuge, so it can be upgraded. By default I'm pretty sure that the stock version of Stealth is simply a defensive/tactics talent, akin to Wow's Vanish. Its a good counter for when an Assassin stealths on you and you won't survive if you happen to be his target.

Let me rephrase, there ARE traps but none that you can deploy...there all enemy traps so stealth in really only useful for disarming them...but thanks, thats what i thot it was for an easy escape....too bad its not used to inflict rediculous ammounts of damage anymore...=/
Perhaps some awsome modder will change that though in the near future? (considering we ever get a toolset)

I'm not sure if I'm too hot on stealth, but obscure is amazing with the shadow tree

Speaking of the shadow tree, based on the descriptions what do u think SHOULD happen if u get disorientating criticals & Shadow Veil and then use the stealth ability?
What I have taken from that is when you enter stealth you also get obscure meaning increased crit% and should be able to apply disorient on a target.
That doesn't happen for me only occurs when i enter gas clouds, in that I am getting increased crit chance (as seen on the attributes screen) and that I am applying disorient on targets ONLY while in gas clouds.
maybe I'm missing something?
