i was wondering if there was a way to change the colors of weapons and armor, for example when the armor/weapon is material type is silverite and its silver color, is there a way to change it to red or yellow?

this is unrelated question, but how can i check the inventory subgroup # of a weapon/armor ?

Are you trying to find out all of the inventory subgroup IDs, because I can post them for you if you'd like. As for changing the color but not material, I haven't found a way to do it, though I believe it may have something to do with tint, again, not sure.

*Edit* To change color, you will have to change it's armor type (not Material progression, the one under it). If the armor value is too low for you, add in the Increase armor attribute to the item's properties, or increase damage for a weapon. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything relating to changing the colors without changing it's type.

Still no luck on recoloring without changing the material type, I think you'll have to figure out how to reskin/recolor an armor if you want a certain type with a different color :/.

I find it very confusing that this task, which was so easy in the NWN toolset, is not very intuitive at all in the DA toolset! It's clear that clothing and armour *can* have different colours. If I edit a red suit of armour and turn it into a robe, it's a red robe - but a plain suit of armour turned into a robe is a plain robe. Clearly some tint is being carried across. But what, how, why? I simply can't figure it out. Feeling very much like an idiot here. Any ideas?

Apologies for failing to understand previous posts in this topic at the time when I last posted. The materials make more sense to me now. :-)

You can create a new tint and then set it as the override tint for the item. It will use your custom tint instead of the material tint. This is a pretty good tutorial on the basic concept: http://social.biowar..._existing_items

Thanks for the link. Definitely didn't know about this, but is something I've wanted to do for a while.
