After two days after bought Dragon Age 2 from Steam and played 12 hours to complete Act 1. I tried to play today but somehow the launcher kept showing up everytime I pressed "play."

Is the launcher preventing me to play Dragon Age 2 or is there a conspricay plotting?

Neither one of you could have the slightest idea  whether or not your problem is /was the same, since both of you chose to ignore the stickies, particularly the one that says "Before anything".  And that totally unanswerable status will remain the situation for all similarly mentally blindfolded members, who don't even *try* to help themselves here.  You absolutely must choose to participate in your own process by obtaining the required information, otherwise you are wasting your time, and ours as well, and the space in the forum.

Do you have multiple accounts for your operating system? If so, please login to the Administrator account.

If you only have one account, you may need to create a secondary Administrator account to see if this resolves the issue.

Also, if you are running on Windows Vista/Windows 7, there is a built-in application for Windows called the User Account Control. This can, at times, cause connectivity and launching errors, as well as crashing. Here's the FAQ on disabling the UAC: http://support.ea.co...detail/a_id/380

Please post here if you need further assistance.

The EA Agent's link doesn't seem to go anywhere, so here's an article from Microsoft Technet about the UAC: http://technet.micro...691(WS.10).aspx

Specifically, the portion below may be relevant. You'd want to change it to prompt as opposed to automatic deny. Turning the UAC off entirely is a bad idea. (Remember everything below assumes you have admin rights)

To change the elevation prompt behavior for standard users

[*]Click Start, click Accessories, click Run, type secpol.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.

[*]From the Local Security Settings console tree, click Local Policies, and then Security Options.

[*]Scroll down to and double-click User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for standard users.

[*]From the drop-down menu, select one of the following settings:

Automatically deny elevation requests (standard users will not be able to run programs that require elevation, and they will not be prompted)

Prompt for credentials (this setting requires user name and password input before an application or task will run as elevated, and it is the default for standard users)

Click OK.

Close the Local Security Settings window.
