I suppose I'm not the only one who thinks DA Origins is better. I had high hope for DA 2 but they change the gameplay quite a lot. I could talk all day about how DA Origins is better than DA 2 but let's just summarize all I have to say that Origins is better. Don't get me wrong, DA 2 is still a great game.

I honestly can't compare them all that well; I've had about the same amount of fun with both, just in different ways. It's kind of like if I were to compare, hrm, I dunno. Pizza vs. lasagna. I like them both the same, but they each satisfy a different sort of craving. :P

DA:O was definitely less buggy, though. :)

I thought Dragon Age: Origins was so buggy! LOL:P

Dragon Age Origins. For a simple fact that it had an actual ending and was worth its price.

Storyline: DA:O

Inter-party dialogue: DA2

Combat: Tie (Because DA:O didn't have crazy amounts of waves of enemies and DA2 has what feels like fast combat.)

Leveling system/ability learning/other stuff: DA2 (Because choosing traits and talents in DA:O drove me crazy since I wanted to learn them all.)

Graphics: DA:O

Overall feel of storyline and course of actions made throughout the game: DA:O

Are you laughing with me or... at me? Depending on your answer, I may cower in a corner for all eternity.

DA:2

The story wasn't generic, the characters were awesome, and the combat was far superior. All that needs fixing is the reused environments and the loot system.

Origins is one of my favourite games of all time and is far superior in just about every way I can think of to DA2, be it gameplay, visuals, characters, story, whatever.
I actually preferred Awakening to DA2, and that was only DLC. Words fail to express how utterly disappointed I was with DA2.

Origins.

DA2 was a pretty good game but it was a step backward overall except in graphics and combat (except the animations...)

Dragon Age Origins is the better game IMO but DA2 doesn't deserve all this hate it's getting.

Story: DA2's was better overall, but DAO's was better executed.
Party members: DAO.
Combat: DA2.
Leveling up: DA2, good to see all those useless talents get the boot.
Looting: DA2, no useless talents means less terrible loot to go with the talents!
Sidequests: DA2
Decisions: DAO
Music: DAO
Graphics: DA2
Replay value: DAO

Hoping for a good DA2 expansion.

DA2 looks a lot better, the combat works the same but feels more exciting, I liked the new art style and I also prefer voiced protagonists. Sadly, on every other aspect Origins is miles ahead and is by far the better game.

I loved the combat of Dragon Age 2, and thought it was better. I also loved the dialouge wheel (I'm a huge Mass Effect fan!), and prefered it over the dialouge of Dragon Age: Origins. I just miss some of Origins' characters...OGHREN!!!  MORRIGAN!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!

Origins. 2 was fine, pretty good game - I'd have liked it better if I hadn't had origins. I just didn't care as much about my companions in the second. Missed the campsite, and as much as i hated Deep Roads, reusing the maps repeatedly sucked just as much. Especially when you saw doors and further paths on the mini map that didn't exist, and filled in doors in the wall, who makes a fake door in a cave? The only thing that would have really improved origins for me would be an open world, that would have been awesome.

Origins, no contest DA2 was a mess and I think I would have had more fun standing behind a horse waiting for it to kick me in the crotch.

Hyperbole aside, I really dislike the majority of DA2, ranging from combat, to art design, plot holes, customisation, some characters and reusing environments. I found it painful to drag myself though the game the first time and after completing act 3 I have resigned myself never to playing it again.

Honestly, they both just feel like different games. I prefer Dragon Age 2's combat though.

Origins was better for me. No contest.
Dragon age 2 felt like a different game, in a different universe. It's connections to DA:O felt tacked on a best and non-existent at worst.
The decisions you make don't affect the events in the story.
Your companions are either fanatics or ambivalent, with no in betweens.

IMHO, Dragon Age: Origins had no sequel.

Please remember this is just my opinion and I mean no offence to anyone who enjoyed DA2
Edit: I saw this thread and expected trolling and name calling. Way to be classy and not drop to that level! :wizard:
